At A Glance: '18 Mid-Ohio Hoosier Super Tour

Storylines/Things to Watch:
Heading East -- After two consecutive, fantastic events in the west at California’s Buttonwillow Raceway Park and Oregon’s Portland International Raceway, the Hoosier Racing Tire SCCA® Super Tour shifts action eastward to complete its 10-event season in June, with the first race weekend taking place June 1-3 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course hosted by the Ohio Valley Region.  After Mid-Ohio, the Hoosier Super Tour only has two events left in 2018, the next being the Chicago Region WeatherTech June Sprints at Road America, followed by a weekend in Upstate New York at Watkins Glen International hosted by SCCA’s Glen Region.

Michigan-Ohio War Revisited – While the SCCA® is about everyone having #funwithcars -- a respectful, healthy, competitive spirit certainly exists within the Club. Of the nearly 210 entries slated to compete during the Mid-Ohio Hoosier Super Tour weekend, a great number proclaim residence in either Michigan or Ohio. It’s a modern-day salute to the Michigan-Ohio War of 1835, but let’s see which comes out on top in 2018 at the Mid-Ohio Hoosier Racing Tire SCCA Super Tour.

Points! – Results from this year’s 10 Hoosier Super Tour events count toward the 2018 Hoosier Racing Tire SCCA Super Tour Point Standings. A driver’s best six Hoosier Super Tour finishes, plus their 2018 Sonoma Runoffs performance, count toward overall results. Hoosier Super Tour race winners earn 25 points, and 21 points go to second.  Points are then doled out to others starting with 18 and descending to a single point for the 20th finisher. To earn an SCCA® Road Racing Super Sweep honor in 2018, drivers must win a U.S. Majors Tour® Conference Championship, the Hoosier Super Tour point standings, and win the National Championship Runoffs all in a single class.

Park Picnic with Racing -- Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course -- set in the lush, green, rolling hills of Lexington, Ohio -- is the perfect weekend getaway for families.  Bring a Frisbee, football or soccer ball for a day punctuate by awesome racecars.  And for photography buffs, there are plenty of trackside spots to get great shots.  Spectator entry is only $10 for access to a wonderful weekend with awesome activities and racing action. For those who can’t get to the track, follow all the action at www.scca.com/live with live timing/scoring, trackside video cameras and Super Tour Radio presented by Hoosier Racing Tire.
