The Sports Car Club of America® has finalized the 2020 Tire Rack SCCA® Time Trials National Tour Powered by Hagerty calendar, confirming that the March 28-29 opening round Falken Tire West Coast Season Kickoff will be held at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California in a celebration that is designed to open the season in a significant way. With multiple course configurations and a Saturday night party on the docket, the Auto Club event is designed to have the feel of Tire Rack Time Trials Nationals Powered by Hagerty — without the cross-country tow for those on the Pacific Coast.
Thanks to the configuration possibilities at Auto Club Speedway, the two-day event will take place on two distinct configurations. Saturday will see competitors on the infield-only course, while Sunday’s trial will run the full “roval” configuration.
Saturday night’s participant party is co-hosted by Global Time Attack, an SCCA Pro Racing-sanctioned program that utilizes the Tire Rack SCCA Time Trials National Tour to licenses its top level drivers for events and includes the biggest and baddest Time Trials cars in the country at each of its events.
“This is an important and distinct event for the SCCA Time Trials Program,” Jon Krolewicz, SCCA Time Trials Manager, said. “The Southern California car culture is second to none, and this has quickly become one of our largest series. In our minds, we open the season with an event that is on par with our finale in size and scope, and there’s no better way to start the season. With Tire Rack, Hagerty, Falken Tire and Global Time Attack involved, the Falken Tire West Coast Season Kickoff gives us a chance to begin and end the season with a championship-level event that includes everyone west of the Rockies.”
SCCA Time Trials are motorsport events where drivers challenge themselves and their vehicles to achieve a personal best time on a full road racing circuit or segment of track. Offering an easy, fun entry into motorsports, vehicles used at SCCA Time Trials range from unmodified street cars to highly modified creations showcasing advanced automotive engineering techniques.

(Revised January 23, 2020) Two additional changes have been made to the 2020 Tire Rack National Solo program calendar, adding a Tire Rack Championship Tour event in the Southwest and taking advantage of the space at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway to make that event an additional Tire Rack ProSolo event.
The second round of the Tire Rack SCCA Championship Tour will now be held at Marana Regional Airport in Tucson, AZ, on April 24-26, 2020. The site is an additional concrete tarmac now available in the Southwest.
After Director of Rally and Solo Mike King and National Solo Field Operations Manager Howard Duncan visited the site for a local event and consultation with the Las Vegas Region, a decision was made to name the March 27-29 event at Las Vegas Motor Speedway a ProSolo, after being previously scheduled as a Championship Tour.
(Previously posted January 8th, 2020) – The Sports Car Club of America® has announced calendar changes to the Tire Rack National Solo® program that impacts participants in both Tire Rack Championship Tour and the Tire Rack ProSolo® in Texas and Crows Landing, CA.
Due to popular demand and uniqueness of the site layout, the May 29-31 event in Hitchcock, Texas at GrandSport Speedway has been changed to a Championship Tour event from its originally scheduled ProSolo round.
Unfortunately, due to unforeseen site availability issues, the Crows Landing Championship Tour is no longer on the schedule. The ProSolo at Crows Landing will now be held April 17-19, as the site is no longer available on the originally scheduled date. The second round of the 2020 Tire Rack CAM Challenge Powered by SCCA will remain on this date as scheduled.
“Solo site acquisition can be a challenge at times, even at the National level,” Mike King, Director of Solo, said. “When the Crows Landing weekend became unavailable it led to a set of musical chairs, but we feel confident that we maximized the number of seats available. We’re still hopeful that we can add one additional Championship Tour in the Southwest soon, and if that happens, we will make an additional announcement.”
