Last Updated: October 23, 2026

Introduction

The Sports Car Club of America™ (“SCCA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and protected when you visit SCCA.com or interact with SCCA digital services.

This policy applies to the SCCA national website and associated digital tools used to support SCCA programs, membership, and events.

This policy governs SCCA.com. The Member Account Portal (my.scca.com), where membership transactions and financial information are processed, is governed by its own separate privacy policy.

Information We Collect

Website Usage Information

When you visit SCCA.com, certain technical information may be automatically collected, including:

  • IP address
  • Browser type and device information
  • Pages visited and navigation activity
  • Referring websites or links
  • Date and time of visits

This information helps us understand how the website is used and improve the user experience.

Membership and Account Information

Membership and account information is collected and stored through the SCCA Member Account Portal (MAP) at https://my.scca.com, not through SCCA.com. MAP is governed by its own separate privacy policy. The information managed through MAP may include:

  • Name
  • Contact information (email address, phone number, mailing address)
  • Membership status and Region affiliation
  • Account activity related to membership services

SCCA.com does not itself collect or store membership or account records, which are maintained in MAP under its separate privacy policy. Please refer to the MAP privacy policy for information on how membership and account data is collected and used.

Event Participation Information

SCCA organizes motorsports events across the United States. When registering for or participating in events, we may collect:

  • Event registration details
  • Competition class information
  • Licensing or eligibility information
  • Results, standings, and historical participation data

This information supports event operations and the maintenance of official competition records.

Event registrations are typically processed through third-party registration platforms used by both National and Regional SCCA programs. Event registration generally does not occur directly through SCCA.com.

Communications and Submissions

If you contact SCCA or subscribe to communications, we may collect information such as:

  • Email address
  • Communication preferences
  • Messages submitted through contact forms
  • Newsletter subscriptions or marketing communications

How We Use Information

SCCA uses collected information to support the operation of the organization and its programs, including:

  • Providing membership services
  • Processing event registrations
  • Communicating with members and participants
  • Maintaining official competition results and records
  • Promoting SCCA programs, events, and member benefits
  • Improving website functionality and user experience
  • Supporting customer service and technical support

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

SCCA.com uses cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

  • Essential cookies that support core website functionality
  • Analytics cookies that help us understand how visitors use the site
  • Advertising cookies, including Meta (Facebook) Pixel and Google Ads, used to measure and deliver advertising (see “Information Sharing” below)
  • Embedded services such as video players or mapping tools

You can manage your cookie preferences at any time using the cookie preference tool on SCCA.com. See “Your Privacy Choices” below for how to opt out of advertising cookies specifically.

Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. SCCA does not sell or rent names, contact information, or membership records to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Advertising and analytics. SCCA.com uses tools such as Meta (Facebook) Pixel and Google Ads to measure and deliver advertising. These tools receive limited technical and behavioral information about your visit, which qualifies as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under California and other state privacy laws. You can opt out of this sharing at any time — see “Your Privacy Choices” below.

Aggregate and statistical information. SCCA may provide aggregated, de-identified insights to sponsors and partners — for example, the general composition of our membership by vehicle make — solely to inform partnership decisions. This information does not identify any individual and is not shared, sold, or disclosed in individually identifiable form.

Information may be shared with trusted service providers that support SCCA operations, such as:

  • Event registration platforms
  • Email communication services
  • Technology and hosting providers

These providers are only permitted to use information as necessary to perform services on behalf of SCCA.

Legal Disclosures

SCCA may disclose personal information when required to do so by law or when we believe such action is necessary to:

  • Comply with legal obligations or government requests
  • Enforce SCCA policies or agreements
  • Respond to claims that content violates the rights of others
  • Protect the rights, property, or safety of SCCA, its members, or the public

Information may also be shared with law enforcement or government authorities in response to verified requests relating to criminal investigations or alleged illegal activity.

Data Retention

SCCA retains personal information according to its internal record retention policy, based on the type of information and the purpose for which it was collected. In general:

  • Website usage and cookie data is retained according to the settings of our analytics and advertising tools
  • Contact form submissions and newsletter subscription data are retained for as long as needed to respond to your inquiry or maintain your subscription
  • Competition results and other official historical records are maintained permanently as part of SCCA’s institutional record

Membership and event registration data is retained according to the policies of MAP and the applicable third-party registration platform.

Competition Results and Public Records

Participation in SCCA events may result in the publication of competition results, standings, and related information. These records may include participant names, competition classes, vehicle information, finishing positions, and event history.

Competition results are considered part of the official historical record of SCCA events and may be published on SCCA websites, in communications, or through partner services.

Event Photography and Media

SCCA events may be photographed or recorded for promotional, editorial, and historical purposes. Images or video captured at events may be used by SCCA in publications, marketing materials, websites, social media, or other communications.

Participation in SCCA events may result in appearance in such media.

Regional Websites

Some SCCA Regions operate websites hosted within the SCCA.com platform using Region-specific subdomains.

Content published on Region websites is managed by the respective SCCA Region. While hosted on the SCCA platform, Region content represents the Region and may not reflect the views or policies of the national organization.

This Privacy Policy applies to Region websites hosted on the SCCA.com platform to the same extent as SCCA.com, except where a Region posts its own separate privacy notice.

Your Privacy Choices

Depending on your state of residence, and to the extent these state privacy laws apply to SCCA, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Right to Know — what personal information we collect, use, and disclose
  • Right to Access or Correct — review or correct your personal information
  • Right to Delete — request deletion, subject to legal exceptions
  • Right to Opt Out — opt out of the sharing of your information for cross-context behavioral advertising (see “Advertising and analytics” above)
  • Right to Appeal — where available under your state’s law, request review if we deny your request

These rights apply to information collected directly through SCCA.com — including browsing and cookie data, advertising sharing preferences, contact form submissions, and newsletter subscriptions. For information related to your membership or event registrations, please contact MAP or the applicable registration platform directly, or refer to their respective privacy policies.

Notice at collection. At or before the point at which we collect personal information through SCCA.com, we provide notice of the categories of personal information collected, the purposes for which it is used, and whether it is shared. This Privacy Policy, together with our cookie banner and preference tool, serves as that notice.

How to opt out of advertising sharing. You can exercise your opt-out right at any time using the “Update Cookie Preferences” button at the bottom of this page. SCCA also honors the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as a valid opt-out request.

To exercise your other privacy rights, please complete our Privacy Request Form or contact SCCA using the information provided below. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law, generally within 45 days, and will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. Where your state of residence provides a right to appeal a denied request, we will respond to any appeal within the timeframe required by that state’s law.

International Visitors

The Sports Car Club of America™ primarily operates in the United States and provides services primarily to U.S. residents and participants.

The website receives a small amount of traffic from visitors located outside the United States, including the European Economic Area (EEA) and United Kingdom. By using this website, international visitors acknowledge that information may be processed and stored in the United States.

For visitors located in the EEA or UK, SCCA relies on your consent, obtained through our cookie consent tool, before using non-essential cookies or advertising technologies such as Meta Pixel and Google Ads. Other processing — such as responding to inquiries or operating the website — is based on SCCA’s legitimate interests or, where applicable, contractual necessity.

SCCA does not intentionally target or market its services to residents of the European Union or United Kingdom.

Children's Privacy

SCCA.com is not directed to children under the age of 13. SCCA does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the website.

If we become aware that personal information from a child under 13 has been collected without appropriate parental consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete that information.

Parents or guardians who believe their child may have provided personal information through the website may contact SCCA using the contact information provided below.

Minors may participate in SCCA-sanctioned junior programs. Registration and membership data for junior participants is collected and stored through third-party event registration platforms (such as TrackRabbit and MotorsportReg.com) or the Member Account Portal (MAP) — either under the junior participant’s own account or a parent or guardian’s account, depending on how the membership is structured — and is not collected directly through SCCA.com. Please refer to those platforms’ privacy policies, or the MAP privacy policy, for information on how junior participants’ data is collected and used.

Data Security

SCCA takes reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no website or online system can guarantee complete security.

Links to External Websites

SCCA.com may include links to external websites operated by Regions, partners, or third-party services. SCCA is not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites.

Users should review the privacy policies and terms of use of any external sites they visit.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

SCCA may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect operational, legal, or technical changes. Updated policies will be posted on this page with the revised effective date.

Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Kansas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where superseded by applicable federal or state law.
