We are in familiar territory now, most of the way through the season with just a few weeks left, and where is Tommy Bordeaux? Suddenly at the top of the podium! If you remember back to last season, around this time we released an update titled “Bordeaux upsets podium”. Well, Bordeaux strikes again!
The points race has been a close one all season with just a wins-worth of points holding the podium together. Bordeaux scored an excellent win and managed to push himself to the top of the podium. Zachary Le Vey is impossibly close, too, only about 20 points back. That same 20-point gap is what separates third, fourth and fifth place! There is a ton of shuffling going on in this top ten as Brett Holton has managed to gain three positions this week. Keep your eyes on this race, it will only get hotter in these closing weeks! These drivers are fighting for their positions, and we expect to see more upsets. It is certainly still anyone’s race!

- Women’s Initiative Luncheon presented by Mazda
This is a unique opportunity for all the ladies, at nationals, to get together, at one time. We want to celebrate the ladies in this sport. We will share ideas that worked in 2019, to encourage more women to try our sport. This will also be a time to encourage each other, to make plans for 2020 goals, to refine our driving skills and take on leadership roles, within our Regions and Nationally.

The event decal for this year has come in. It measures 6.5″ tall and 5.” wide. All cars will be required to have this decal shown on both sides of their vehicle. They will be available at tech.
We also remind everyone that per the supplemental regulations 5.5 no competing sanctioning decals may be visible.
Contingency registration for SCCA’s gold and silver level administered contingency programs are on a separate MSR registration found here: https://www.motorsportreg.com/events/2019-tire-rack-scca-solo-nationals-contingency-lincoln-airpark-national-696240. Please keep in mind that you must register each and every year to be eligible for awards and that National Tour registration does NOT include Championships. Competitors must be registered prior to competing, and it is the competitor’s responsibility to comply with contingency requirements. Please check the programs on https://www.scca.com/pages/solo-contingency for detailed program requirements, including decal placements. Please check back for additions to the program.

- Talent, Tacos, Grillers and Chillers!
There’s no better way to kick off Solo Nationals than with tasty tacos, cold beverages, and friends on stage! That’s right, The Annual Grassroots Motorsports Tacos and Talent welcome party presented by the BFGoodrich and the Lincoln Visitor’s Bureau (Taco’s n Talent for short), returns to the party paddock at Lincoln on Monday night.
The stage is open to everyone. Sing, dance, tell a joke, escape from a straitjacket, hit yourself in the head with a hammer, our standards for entertainment are as wide and varied as your ability to deliver it. We have basic tech and support available for whatever artistic passion you’d like to explore on stage (provided it is appropriate—ish for a mixed audience). There’ll also be games pitting region against region and competitor with swag and bragging rights on the line. Top act of the night walks away with a set of BFGoodrich tires.
To get your name on the talent list, email emcee J.G. Pasterjak at [email protected].
Don’t have an act, but want to help? Fantastic. We need a few good men and women to man (or woman) the grills, hand out the beverages and serve the masses! This does not count as a Solo Nationals work assignment, BUT there is swag (and the satisfaction of a job well done) to be had. If interested, email [email protected]
If a minor’s membership hard card has “Minor waiver on file” on the back, just show the hard card to the waiver workers. Minors can then receive a Nationals wristband, or they can display their membership (hard) card on their person; either needs to be visible anytime on the Nationals site.
If a minor competitor (driver) and/or worker does not have an annual waiver on file with the SCCA National office noted on the back of the membership (hard) card, then a minor waiver will need to be filled out with the signature of BOTH parents/guardians and the minor witnessed by the adult waiver worker. A wristband can then be issued to the minor. (A waiver with only one parent/guardian signature is not a valid document unless the one parent/guardian legally has sole custody. An affidavit of sole custody can be signed by the parent/guardian and witnessed by the waiver worker.)
A minor waiver is not necessary for minors under 12 years of age that are not Junior Drivers; they are not permitted to be in active “hot” areas per the 2019 Solo Rules section 1.3.2.O (page 20).
A minor waiver is not necessary for minors 12 to 17 years old but they are not permitted in active “hot” areas without a minor waiver completed as stated previously.
More information on waivers can be found at the bottom of the webpage https://www.scca.com/pages/solo-cars-and-rules or contact Doug Gill, Solo Competition Manager, at [email protected].
