Yes. Two drivers can participate in the same car in different run groups or they can split the time within the same group. Each driver must be an entrant, however, so splitting time in the same run group will cost you track time. Another good option is to both do the Driver/Worker entry which allows each of you one session while working for two hours to support the event.

While it is strongly recommended to get your car ready before showing up, sometimes things get overlooked. We will do our best to assist with the car so it can meet the requirements of the event tech sheet. If it is beyond immediate repair, we can send you a coupon that can be used on a future registration.

Track driving is more wear and tear on your car than driving to work, no doubt about it. If you track your car on a regular basis, you can expect to replace items like brake pads, shocks and tires more often than normal. Good thing we have the Tire Rack to supply you with all those goodies!

The current Board roster by Area and officers are posted on the Leadership + Governance page and in the Member Account Portal.

The BoD selects an Executive Committee comprised of the officers: Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer and First Alternate empowered to act on the Board’s behalf between meetings. The Board also appoints other committees and program boards to regulate specific competition disciplines and advise on Club affairs; each committee’s jurisdiction, tenure and voting rules are set by the Board and included in the Operations Manual.

Beyond voting in BoD elections, members can attend the Annual Meeting held alongside the National Convention, petition for a special Club meeting with signatures from 6% of Regular Members and get involved locally through their Region’s elected leadership or apply to serve on a number of various program boards and advisory committees. Any Regular Member can also propose a Bylaws amendment with support from 3% of the membership.

Bylaws amendments can be proposed by the Board or by petition of at least 3% of Regular Members, and require a two-thirds vote of members balloting to pass. The Operations Manual, the Club’s day-to-day operating guide, is reviewed and updated at least every three years and can only be changed by approval of the BoD. The most current Bylaws can be downloaded here.

Mike Cobb serves as President and Chief Executive Officer, leading National Office staff across membership, program operations, marketing and communications, finance, and sanctioning. The BoD hires and oversees the CEO and sets the policies the CEO and staff carry out — the standard governance-and-management split used by most member-owned nonprofits.

A Region is the local chapter where a member holds primary affiliation — the group running local events, meetings and programs. An Area is one of 13 voting districts made up of several Regions, used to elect BoD members. Members vote for their BoD representative through their Area affiliation based on their region of record.

Yes. Any Regular Member can be nominated by 20 Regular Members from their own Area; nominations are due to the Club office by October 1 of the year before the term begins. The nominee must meet these requirements according to National Office records on October 1:

Members interested in the nomination process can send us an email.

Each of the Club’s 13 Areas elects one Director to a three-year term, with elections staggered so that roughly a third of Areas vote each year. Voting runs October 15 through November 15. A Director may serve a maximum of two elected terms, though an appointment to fill a mid-term vacancy doesn’t count against that limit.

The Board of Directors (BoD) governs the affairs and property of the Club. The BoD approves Club policy, hires and oversees the CEO, approves the SCCA Operations Manual, appoints committees and program boards, and ensures the Club operates within its Bylaws and applicable law. The BoD governs; it does not run day-to-day program operations, which fall to the CEO and staff.

SCCA® Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation governed by a member-elected Board of Directors (BoD) comprised of 13 Regular Members elected from 13 geographic Areas. The President and Chief Executive Officer, supported by National Office staff based in Topeka, Kansas, runs day-to-day business operations of the SCCA. The SCCA BoD approves policy and strategic direction for the Club under the SCCA Bylaws and Operations Manual. Regions, the local chapters, where most members hold their primary affiliation, operate under charters granted by the Board.
