These strategies, guidelines, and information are in concert with the SCCA COVID-19 Event Guidelines posted on the SCCA website and will continue to evolve throughout the season as we gain knowledge and experience.

Core Strategies:
  • Social/Physical Distancing
  • PPE: have a mask available
  • Sanitizing
  • Minimize Contact
  • Communication
SCCA COVID-19 Guidelines:
Competitor Pre-Event Preparation
  • If you have symptoms, PLEASE STAY HOME to protect the Solo Community!
  • Review this document and the SCCA COVID-19 Guidelines.
  • If possible, bring your own PPE (mask, sanitizer, etc.).
  • Bring your own food and water. Community water coolers will not be provided.
  • Bring a helmet; loaner helmets will NOT be available.
  • If there is a change to your registration, make it in advance to avoid lines on site. Changes can be made online until online registration closes. After that, changes should be emailed to Nikki Edwards at
  • To help minimize contact at the event, please sign up before the event for the SCCA Annual Waiver at OR be sure to sign up for the Speedwaiver when you register for the event or receive the event email.
General Guidelines and Information:
  • Follow your appropriate guideline as laid out in the SCCA COVID-19 Guidelines linked above.
  • When space is available, practice paddock parking distancing.
  • Do NOT enter the T&S trailer unless asked; everyone must wear a mask in the trailer.
  • As you interact, if you meet someone who is wearing a mask, please also put your mask on while speaking with them.
Operational Guidelines and Information:
  • Registration Check-in will be at the Lincoln Drivers’ Center (LDC) at the designated times; workers will have PPE available.
  • Tech Inspection will be a self-inspection of the competitor’s vehicle, including a Registration Check-in component. More info below.
  • Worker Check-in will be signaled by a raised flag at the LDC. Worker sheets will be posted online after final check-in has closed so competitors are able to verify that work positions did not change (due to cancellations/class changes). Course workers will check in at the LDC. Specialty workers will check in at their designated area with the Chief, i.e., Impound, Grid, Timing, etc.
  • T&S Workers inside the trailer will always wear masks. Surfaces and tools may be sanitized between each work session
CV19 Related Materials and Supplies provided by SCCA for staff, field staff, and workers:
  • Masks, Face Shields
  • Sanitizer and dispensers
  • Signage
SCCA Annual Waiver Information
E-Waiver Information:
  • We are now accepting E-Waivers at National events.
  • Go to the Event page, click on the link on the link for Mobile Speed Waiver (located under the Event information heading on the right side of the web page.
  • You will also receive an email with a link to sign the E-Waiver for the weekend.
  • This waiver will be used in lieu of signing a paper waiver (but does not take the place of any required track waivers).
  • Waiver is good for Event Dates only, a new E-Waiver will have to be completed for each event.
  • Armbands must still be worn to show that you have signed the waiver.
Tech Inspection Procedure:

The self-tech inspection procedure below will be used to minimize contact between drivers and event workers by expediting and decentralizing the process.

  • A Chief Technical Inspector (CTI) will be appointed as per the National Solo Rules, Section 5.6. The role of the CTI will be to oversee the process and if needed conduct additional inspections of vehicles.
  • A Self-Tech Inspection form will be available at the event site and online before the event. Go to the Event Page and click on the link for Tech Form (located under the Event information heading on the right side of the web page), download, and print. Bring the form with you to the event- ONE FOR EACH DRIVER.
  • The driver will complete the form by conducting a self-tech of their vehicle when parked in the paddock, warranting that their car is compliant with the SCCA Solo Rules. If there are two or more drivers using the vehicle, a completed form is needed for each driver.
  • While still in the paddock, the class designation and numbers will be placed on the vehicle. If the driver has them at this time, also place on the vehicle any SCCA required decals and appropriate contingency decals. SCCA required decals and some contingency decals are available at Tech Inspection.
  • When the above is completed, the driver takes the vehicle AND their helmet to Tech Inspection, staying in the car while there.
  • The driver gives their Self-Tech Inspection form to the CTI, or their designee, and shows them their helmet, again, staying in the car.
  • The car will receive a quick review for numbers and class letters, plus any obvious mechanical issues.
  • While remaining in the car, they will be asked if they need any SCCA or contingency decals AND if there are any changes to their event registration information (car, class, number, tires, etc.).
  • If there are no changes, they will be checked in for the event at Tech and will not have to go to Registration Check-in. They can then return to the paddock
  • If there are changes to their registration information, they will keep their tech form and exit the Tech area with their vehicle. They must go to the SCCA Timing Trailer at the designated time shown in the supps to complete any changes.
Check-in Procedure:

The check-in procedure below will be used to further simplify the process.

  • Event supps will no longer be handed out when you check-in. They will be available by request. Supps will be posted online on the Event page as well as on-site in the following areas: Tech/Impound, Lincoln Driver’s Center & on the Timing Trailer.
  • Schedules shown on the Event supps are the official schedule for the event.
  • Work assignments will be posted on the Event page. A report showing the class listing will be created and it contains information about competitors’ registrations, including work assignments. Information will be available when you tech if you ask.
  • If you have NO CHANGES to your registration, you can proceed through tech, turn in your tech form and you will be checked in for the event.
  • If you HAVE CHANGES to your registration, you can proceed through tech, but you will need to KEEP your tech form and make your way to the SCCA Timing Trailer at the designated time for registration changes (see the supps for times). You will be checked-in for the event at that time.
  • Once check-in is closed for the event, a finalized worker sheet will be posted online to the Event Page (8:15am). Please check there to verify that your work assignment has not changed due to class changes, cancellations, etc. Any work assignments that have changed will be highlighted in grey.

You must register for contingencies each year through the SCCA website, prior to competing for all Silver Gold, and Platinum contingency programs. In some cases, you'll need to register with the sponsor as well, so please read each program's registration requirements carefully. Decals will be available at tech inspection during each event. Bronze programs require registering and receiving decals directly from that sponsor, please refer to the program descriptions for more information.

Registration Policy (after online closes)

Online registration closes at 3:00 pm Central, Tuesday prior to the event.  After online registration closes, you can still register for the event on-site during regular registration times on the day prior to the competition.  Please note, there will be a late entry fee imposed on all on-site registrations.  If the event is already full we will follow the waitlist policy (see below).

Car Number Policy

Car numbers selection will be on a first-come, first-served basis.  Only one- or two-digit numbers will be allowed (i.e., 1 through 99). Exception: Where there are two drivers in one car, in one class, then the second driver MUST be 100 plus the first driver's number (99 and 199). The system does not allow drivers to reserve their co-driver's number. With that, if there is a conflict where someone signs up for a number and someone else who is not the co-driver signs up for the corresponding number, the person that signed up first for either the two or three-digit number is the owner of that combination. If you notice a discrepancy in numbers, please contact Nikki Edwards ( provides the date/time of registrations to determine who registered first and is the rightful owner of the number combination. If desired, drivers of the same car but in different classes (open and ladies) may use the same car number. Drivers of the same car in the same class must submit separate entries. Car numbers above 199 are not allowed at National Solo events.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be made in writing.
Please contact Nikki Edwards ( with questions or to cancel.

Please review valuable information regarding refunds below.

Partial refunds (SCCA keeps $50) for cancellations IF:
Entrant cancels PRIOR to 7:00 pm Central the day of on-site check-in.

NO REFUNDS for cancellations IF:
Entrant cancels AFTER 7:00 pm Central the day of on-site check-in.

Waitlist Policy

The Tire Rack SCCA National Solo events (ProSolo, National Tour, CAM Challenge) are adopting a revised waitlist policy for 2022:

  • The initial entry cap will be set 15 entrants lower than the final cap.
  • When an event hits the initial entry cap, the remaining competitors will be put on a waitlist.
  • Just like the 2021 Tire Rack National Solo season, the waitlist will be published to show the order in which each member is on the list, based on the order of entry receipt and the timestamp listed on the MSR registration. This is the order in which entries will move off the waitlist and into the event when a cancellation is processed. This list does not automatically update in real-time but is rather a report from the registration system that will be run periodically so that those on the waitlist can understand their current position. Given that the list is not updating in real-time, there may be names at the top of the waitlist that has already moved into the event and there may be names that have registered onto the waitlist that do not yet appear.
  • When 15 entrants have registered with the region of record of the hosting region the cap will be increased to the final. If 15 hosting region members have not registered 2 weeks prior to the event the cap will be increased to its final.
  • For entrants on the waitlist, there is no guarantee the entrant will get into the event.
  • As entrants on the entry list cancel, the next person in line on the waitlist will be notified via email that there has been a cancellation and they have now been moved into the event. When that entrant is moved over, they will be required to log into MSR and pay for the event (MSR does not charge waitlisted competitors). The entrant will have 24 hours to pay for the event before that entrant is placed back on the waitlist and the next entrant is put into the event.
  • We will continue to move entrants off the waitlist as we receive cancellations up until the time online registration closes.
  • After online registration closes, we will not update the waitlist online. However, if there is a cancellation after online registration closes, entrants on the waitlist will be contacted in waitlist order to let them know a spot in the event has opened. They will be instructed to contact the on-site event Administrator to claim their spot and remit payment. The waitlist will also be printed and posted in the timing trailer on Friday morning. As cancellations come in during the registration/check-in day, we will try to contact the top person on the waitlist to see if they are available and still want to get into the event that day.
  • At the end of registration on the day prior to the competition, the waitlist will be closed, and no new entries will be allowed into the event.
Onsite Event Registration and Car/Class Changes

For any event that is not sold out, on-site registration is allowed on the day prior to competition. All on-site registrations will be charged the event late fee (see event registration page for pricing). Car and class changes are allowed at check-in on the day prior to competition. Any car or class changes on the days of competition require the approval of the Chief Steward for the event.
