Two FYIs: - Visit HPT on Google Earth and move the year slider to 2016 and you will notice the satellite pic was taken last October when the test event was ongoing. The event next month will be directly SE of where we ran last year on a lot larger parcel of land. - I ran across one long range Topeka weather forecast that predicts snow on Saturday the 8th. There's another that predicts a 60% chance of rain. So that probably means it will be unbearably dusty. Come prepared for anything, I've seen fronts blow through Kansas on the way to Oklahoma that dropped temps a degree a minute for over half an hour! Safe travels to everyone headed this way from outside middle America!
You will be allowed to drop your trailer on the site on Thursday night. Please park it in the area of the paddock shown on the map. They are working on getting a new culvert put in with direct access to grid and paddock. If for some reason it does not make it in you will need to enter the site at the far east side of the competition area and then drive back to the padock. Please drive along the south edge of the comptition area to the separation between paddock and compeition area. One at the the tree line follow it north till you get to the clearning between the two. There is no area lighting so if you arrrive late it will be pretty dark.
I have sent a request to Heartland Park to verify if we are allowed to access the site the day before or if they have an area we can park trailers the day before. I will post additional information as I receive it.
The closest station is 20 miles south of Heartland Park at a Casey's in Overbrook. There are other stations in Lawrence KS and Kansas City. If you are comming from the East you may want to stop at one of those locations. I did not find any in the city of Topeka.
