The 2016 SCCA National Championship Runoffs Presented by Garmin VIRB returns to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course for the first time since 2005. The 53rd annual running of the most prestigious amateur road racing event will be held Sept. 19-25, 2016.

The 2016 Runoffs will utilize Mid-Ohio’s “pro course” configuration for the duration of the event. The pro course is the 13-turn, 2.258-mile configuration that continues straight from Turn One to the approach to the track’s famed Keyhole turn.

Are the timing results going to be uploaded to MyLaps?  This has been done in the past!

    Jeffrey T Hutzelman

Yes; they've just been uploaded.  Enjoy!

Does anyone have contact info or websites of some photographers that were shooting at the Runoffs? Specifically looking for shots from Touring 4. Thanks!

Jonathan - this response to your original post is really late, but you might want to check out Jeff Loewe's website (www.jlofoto.net).  He has great coverage of all classes from the Runoffs.

When will we be able to view the races on the internet.
Some of us can't watch live.

THE EM SERVICE WAS VERY SLOW AND LOOK LIKE THEY DID NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO..  TOOK WAS TOO LONG TO CLEAR CARS.  AND ON SOME

CASES THEY DID NOT PROTEST THE CAR.  THAT WAS NOT HOW I WAS TOUGHT...

THE HP RACE WAS THE BEST RACE I HAVE SEEN IN A LONG TIME...  CLOSE RACING AND DRIVERS DOING IT BY THE BOOK..  IT WAS GREAT TO WATCH...

Two items that took away from the Runoffs. 1. Disqualifying a driver for exceeding a noise limit. The exhaust silencer should be designed so this cannot happen or a rev limiter for the same purpose. Limiting the driver not racing. 2. The actions of Tom Sloe intentionally waiting in the esses to take out the race leader should result in a suspension of his license - - this was not a racing incident and was very un-professional and dangerous for the drivers and safety workers.

Like it or not, Sound reading are a part of the SCCA competition rules and have been for many years.  Competitors are able to view their sound readings after every session and make adjustments if the sound readings warrent.  I believe in the race competitors can violate the sound level two times - on the 3rd violation they are to be Black Flagged and parked.

In drivers meetings it has been explained that the Maximum Sound level is 103.9999 - go to 104 and you are in violation.

We are all under the same sound rule...Just like the scales for weight you better build your own cushion into it...on the second part a total ban is in order for that move. Nobody with that lack of control should be driving a race car...
