It’s dry, cool and sunny at Road America in Wisconsin, which is fantastic for challengers taking part in Friday’s final qualifying chance during the 63rd Mission Foods SCCA® National Championship Runoffs® taking place Sept. 28-Oct. 4, 2026, at America’s National Park of Speed.
By day’s end we’ll know which drivers across 23 different car classes will lead their respective fields to the green flag over two upcoming Hagerty Race Days. The quickest drivers will also be feted tonight with Tire Rack Pole Award honors.
Each class has one more 19-minute session today around the 4.048-mile, 14-turn circuit positioned between Elkhart Lake and Plymouth. Things will progress quickly, so don’t miss a moment of the video broadcast coverage at the SCCA YouTube channel. Live Timing/Scoring for qualifying can also be monitored by clicking the link below.

Rewards Aplenty Friday
Valued partners add so much every year to the entirety of Summit Racing Equipment SCCA Road Racing Program activities. That most certainly includes the final day of qualifying at the Runoffs, during which Hawk “Brake-Through” Performers and Tire Rack Pole Award winners will be announced.
Hawk Performance, the Official Brake Products of SCCA® since 2003, adds an extra layer of excitement by recognizing one driver from each competition class who makes the biggest improvement in position by day’s end. That hot-shoe receives a free set of Hawk brake pads for street cars, race cars, or tow vehicles. Winners, however, must have posted a time in an earlier qualifying session to be eligible for this reward.
For nearly 30 years, championship winning drivers and teams have demanded Hawk Performance motorsports brake pads. The company leverages its experience on the track, and technology used in aerospace and the military, to make first-class products in the USA. It has also helped to keep Runoffs volunteers fed and ready to go during lunch breaks.
Hawk’s advanced technology is also available for daily-driven cars, trucks, and SUVs thanks to Hawk Performance street products. With the LTS compound for SUVs and Jeeps, Super-Duty pads for tow vehicles, and brake fluids for both the street and the racetrack, Hawk has every braking need covered, and learn more by visiting HawkPerformance.com. Then help out by giving Hawk a “like” on Facebook and Instagram.
There’s even more excitement Friday after qualifying concludes with an elaborate Tire Rack Pole Award ceremony held in Road America’s Victory Circle. The quickest drivers receive $500 to spend at Tire Rack and gain a competitive and psychological advantage during Hagerty Race Days. The ultimate goal? Reach the checkered flag first for a special victory podium celebration and the chance to spray a bottle from Mazza Wines, the Runoffs’ Official Sparkling Wine supplier for more than a decade.
Super Sweep Contenders in ‘26
Established in 2009, the SCCA Road Racing Super Sweep is one of the most demanding accomplishments a Club racer can achieve. To merit the award in 2026, drivers must win one Hoosier Racing Tire SCCA Super Tour race, a Hoosier Super Tour Points Championship, a U.S. Majors Tour® Conference Championship, and a National Championship Runoffs race – all within a single class.
Only three elite drivers earned Super Sweep honors in 2025, which stands as testament to the immense skill and commitment required for the feat. That shortlist included Jeff Dernehl in GT3U, Gregory Eaton in American Sedan®, and Spec MX-5 driver Ethan Lampe.
At Road America this year, 13 different classes have drivers who could achieve a Super Sweep – and nearly 20 drivers are still in the hunt before Hagerty Race Days begin. Some drivers only require a Runoffs race win, while others need a combination of factors to align.
It’s a complicated equation, especially when a Runoffs performance counts toward the Hoosier Super Tour Nationwide Points Championship.
The best way to stay on top of developments is to pull up the Runoffs Hagerty Race Day video broadcast at SCCA’s YouTube channel.
Big Friday Night Party Plans
Friday is a humdinger when it comes to end-of-day entertainment. The fun begins at 6 p.m. with the Tire Rack Pole Award celebration at Road America’s Victory Circle. That’s followed by this year’s #2Fast2Tasty Block Party, which is made possible thanks to the event’s title sponsor, Mission Foods. The Block Party will be centered around victory circle and includes an expanded catering queue so everyone gets plenty to eat. Victory circle is also where the 2026 Worker of the Year Presented by Mazda awards will begin at 7:30 p.m., that way everyone can experience the surprise.
