The 2026 SCCA® National Championship Runoffs® is coming up fast. The Sept. 28-Oct. 4 event at Road America is now less than three months away, and key deadlines for paddock requests, event registration, early entry, and more are approaching just as rapidly.
Why attend the Runoffs? Because this is SCCA Road Racing’s ultimate showdown. Hundreds of drivers will battle for National Championship titles at the legendary Road America, a 4.048-mile, 14-turn Wisconsin circuit that always delivers unforgettable racing.
Ready to plan your week? Keep an eye on the important dates listed below, and be sure to bookmark the event Supplemental Regulations, schedule, and test day information, all of which can be found at scca.com/runoffs.
Building Community
Once again, the Runoffs Welcome Party will be held on Wednesday night, Sept. 30, taking place at Turn 5. Whether you’re doing the track walk and stop for some beer and brats before continuing on your lap, or you head directly to the Turn 5 runoff area and party into the night, we’ll be ready and waiting for you.
We heard your comments last year, and we’ve made some adjustments to our other socials and awards ceremonies. Volunteers will have refuels each night at the Road America Center, and you won’t want to miss our Block Party on Friday. We’ll start things off in Victory Circle with the Tire Rack Pole awards before taking a food and beverage break with expanded options. We’ll then honor the recipients of this year’s SCCA Worker of the Year Presented by Mazda. We know that food and beverages ran out last year, so we’re working with some of the local caterers to ensure we have plenty for all attending. Hosting opportunities still exist, so be sure to sign up your team/Region/organization to join in the fun.
Now, onto those all-important dates…
Prep Shop Paddock Requests
Prep shop paddock requests for the 2026 SCCA Runoffs opened today, June 22, at 9 a.m. CT and runs through July 26. The request process follows the same format used in recent years and is available only to eligible prep shops that meet established criteria, including operating as a commercial race service provider with employed crew members. Complete eligibility details can be found in the Prep Shop Paddock document.
When submitting a request, prep shops will need to provide business information along with the name, SCCA member number, and class for each supported driver. Drivers do not need to have satisfied Runoffs qualification requirements at the time of submission.
Prep shops must also provide trailer or rig dimensions, awning footprint, total space requirements, and a preferred paddock location. Prep shop paddock assignments will begin July 27. Drivers must be registered for the event if they want to be included in their prep shop’s paddock assignment.
Additional information about paddock space at Road America, along with other event resources, is available on the Runoffs event page.
July 7: Driver and Volunteer Registration
Registration for drivers, volunteers, and prep shop employees opens at 10 a.m. CT on Tuesday, July 7, through MotorsportReg.com.
Driver Event & Test Day Registration
During registration, competitors will have the option to select a prep shop or manufacturer paddock area, if those apply to them. Prep shop and manufacturer paddock assignments will begin July 28, and driver registration must be completed before the assignment can be made. For those wishing to paddock as an individual, that reservation information is listed a little further down in this article.
Drivers who competed in the 2025 Runoffs can reserve the same car number in the same class for 2026 by registering before 9 a.m. CT on July 15. After that deadline, unclaimed numbers become available to other entrants. If multiple competitors request the same number in a combined qualifying group, priority goes to the first completed registration. As always, No. 1 is reserved for the defending National Champion in each class.
Those looking to enter the event test days can do so during the driver registration process. The test day schedule is available here.
Entry fees will not be charged until Aug. 17, 2026, or when a paddock assignment is made, whichever comes first.
