The ProSolo Finale is Staged and Ready – Here’s the Action That’s About to Unfold

If you’re reading this, you probably know “#SoloNatsHasStarted” is already circulating the socials. Still, the truth is, there’s unfinished business to take care of first.

Don’t jump into four days of autocross runs and skip right over the 2025 Tire Rack SCCA® ProSolo® Finale, taking place Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 29-31. This is, after all, where the Johnson-Clark Johnson and Fletcher Cups are handed out.

Plus, if rock-and-roll is the theme for this year’s Sept. 1-5 Tire Rack SCCA Solo National Championships, then the ProSolo Finale has to be the “rockumentary,” at least, because when it comes to the contenders for the JCJ Cup, this one goes to 11.

Actually, it goes to 111.

Turns out, that’s the number of points leader Billy Davis has entering the Finale. With 57 points available (up to 12 for qualifying, up to 45 for the Super Challenge), that leaves 10 drivers mathematically alive in the battle for the JCJ Cup.

Up top in those standings is Davis, who is in danger of trampling over the field like they were an 18-inch model of Stonehenge. He has a 15-point lead over Daniel McCelvey, second in the points, and is 30 points ahead of Taylour Wargo, sitting third. Yes, it’s been that great of a season for Davis, with wins at Toledo and Lincoln (nee Burns Flat) in his scoring column. If he qualifies for the Super Challenge Presented by Vitour, he’ll be tough to beat. If he doesn’t? All bets are off.

Dozens of people spontaneously combust each year. It's just not really widely reported. The chances of the 22 contenders in the Fletcher Cup during the Ladies Shootout spontaneously combusting isn’t likely, however.

What is likely is that the battle for the Fletcher Cup won’t be decided until just a couple of runs remain. With that many drivers still in the fight, the first trick will be to make the Ladies Challenge Presented by Vitour. Once there, it’ll be a battle to last as long as possible. The reason? Meredith Brown leads the way with the same 111 points that Davis has in the JCJ Cup, but hot on her heels are Holly Schwedler and Kim Whitener, both over 100 points. Nicole Wong, Geraghty Anne Ellis, and Meredith Bunsawat are all over 90 points, ready to pounce as well.

Here’s the points race:
