SCCA’s Road Racing department is searching for its next Director of Road Racing, with a planned transition for the existing Director of Road Racing, Deanna Flanagan, to move into another role within the Sports Car Club of America®.
Flanagan joined the SCCA staff in 2002 and has held a variety of roles within the Club, including in the finance, risk management, and SCCA Road Racing departments. She has served as the Director of Road Racing since 2015, managing department staff, the U.S. Majors Tour®, Hoosier Racing Tire SCCA Super Tour, and National Championship Runoffs, as well as supporting program boards, specialties, and Region-run programs.
The Director of Road Racing also works with SCCA’s skilled, nationwide team of volunteers, enabling continued success throughout the SCCA Road Racing program. In the last year, the Summit Racing Equipment SCCA Road Racing program hosted 10 Hoosier Racing Tire SCCA Super Tour weekends, more than 30 U.S. Majors Tour weekends, the National Championship Runoffs, plus roughly 100 Regional Road Racing weekends, allowing thousands of racers to enjoy quality, well organized track time among friends.
Flanagan will transition to a new role that leverages her broad organizational knowledge and skills to support all of SCCA’s programs. She will also assist with the onboarding for the incoming Director of Road Racing during the 2024 season.
The Director of Road Racing position description is posted on the SCCA Career Opportunities page and includes information on how to apply.
