It’s hard to believe but the 10th and final Hoosier Racing Tire SCCA® Super Tour (HST) event of 2025 is already right around the bend. Part of the Summit Racing Equipment SCCA Road Racing program, the June 27-29, 2025, visit to Watkins Glen International will go down on the 3.4-mile, 11-turn circuit originally constructed in the early 1970s.
Both driver and volunteer registration are open for this three-day event in upstate New York at The Glen, a venue steeped in motorsport history thanks to Can-Am, Formula 5000, and Formula 1 events held decades ago. Sign up now to be part of the party hosted by SCCA’s Glen Region, and to take advantage of one last chance to improve on your standings in the 2025 Hoosier Super Tour Nationwide Points Championship.
While you’re at it, don’t forget to make sure your Hagerty insurance is up to date for both tow vehicles and competition cars. You’ll also want to grab plenty of Sunoco race fuel to get you through, and make sure your Hawk Brakes are ready for the challenge. (Was that too blatant of a plug for SCCA’s partners? Don’t worry, it gets worse…)

Return to Traditional Schedule
After a unique, one-off event format adjustment for the WeatherTech Chicago Region® June Sprints® at Road America, things return to “normal” for competitors at The Glen. That means two races for each car class, which will keep everyone hopping in the Bravo Trailer that serves as HQ during HST weekends.
On-track activity begins at 8:30 a.m. Eastern Time on Friday, June 27, with 25-minute qualifying sessions for each of the eight run groups. That’s followed by another round of 25-minute qualifying for the first five run groups, then the last three groups have their second shot at qualifying early Saturday morning.
The competition portion of the weekend is slated to commence at 10:15 a.m. local time on Saturday. There will be 25-minute races for each run group throughout the rest of that day. A second set of races will then begin at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, with those contests being 35 minutes or 14 laps to discover who earns commemorative bottles of Mazza Vineyards sparkling wine.
With around 30 entries, Spec Racer® Ford Gen3 (SRF3) will be an exciting group to watch during the weekend. Current Runoffs® SRF3 Champion Charles Russell Turner, in the No. 23 PCS car, can certainly be considered a favorite there. The same can be said of Bobby Sak in the No. 19 Further Motorsport machine as he grabbed an SRF3 victory during Saturday’s race last year at The Glen.
Of equal interest is the Super Touring® Lite (STL) field with more than a dozen entrants. Craig McHaffie won both STL races last year, and he’s back at the track this year driving the No. 63 Flatout Motorsports Mazda MX-5 car. And we can’t forget about Spec Miata (SM) as it’s another well-subscribed class at Watkins Glen, with Elivan Goulart being the driver to watch in the No. 72 SCDA Track Days/Krugspeed/Kessler Engineering/DLTC Equipment Mazda Miata.
“The Spec Miata races at Watkins Glen are always exciting,” Goulart said. “It’s a field filled with talent and close racing, and I was thrilled to win both of those races last year. It wasn’t easy and I assume that will be the case again this year during the Hoosier Super Tour weekend.”
Onlookers will also want to be aware of the Touring 3 (T3) race. Amongst the dozen contestants in that field is reigning T3 Runoffs Champion Marshall Mast. He’s making his first HST appearance this year at Watkins Glen in the No. 31 Phoenix/Hawk/Hoosier Ford Mustang. He won the National Championship last year and both T3 races at The Glen driving a Pontiac Solstice.
“Watkins Glen is by far my favorite track that we race at in the Northeast, and year after year I continue to have some of the best racing all season there,” Mast said. “Whether it be in Touring 3 or Touring 4, there is always great racing at Watkins Glen!”
