The 2026 Mission Foods SCCA® National Championship Runoffs® is getting closer by the day. Taking place Sept. 28-Oct. 4, the winner-take-all road races at Road America are poised to take to the 4.048-mile, 14-mile circuit located a stone’s throw from Elkhart Lake, WI – and while we don’t KNOW who will win the 24 championship races that are about to take place, we’d like to think we know enough to make an educated guess.

Or a foolish guess. It depends on your perspective.

Today, we’re going to look at the competition in Touring, and no category at this year’s Runoffs has more unknowns. For one, Touring 1 is in flux, so stay tuned for an update on that class. But there’s still Touring 2, 3, and 4 to consider. Before we reveal who we think will stand on the podium in those classes (and ask you to vote on who you think will win), we’ve got some links for you.

Up first is the Runoffs homepage, where you’ll find literally everything you need to know about the event. Also below is the driver’s entry list and event schedule, so you can discover who is racing, and when they’ll be on track. Then there’s a link to spectator tickets for those who want to view the action on site, along with a link to SCCA’s YouTube channel, where Runoffs qualifying and Hagerty Race Days will be streamed live:

Keep reading to discover who WE think will win, then vote on who YOU think will take the gold.

Touring 2

Touring 2 might lead the field in “unknowns.” An adjustment to the TCR cars may shake things up, and the addition of the Spec Corvettes to the class adds flair.

The TCR cars are awesome, and Rylan Hazelton took the Sprints in his Honda Civic, so let’s make him our selection for the win.

But right behind him was Alan Kossof and Aaron Kaplan in traditional T2 cars – the 996 Porsche 911 and the BMW M2, respectively. They could be in the mix. And Spec Corvette has been competitive out west for a number of years – is this class got what it takes? Christopher Miranda and William Bolt seem to be among the fastest of this lot, which could shake things up.

We’d be remiss not to mention Scotty B. White anytime he enters. And then this field is quite deep, so we expect a few surprises once the green flies.

So let’s sit right here: Hazelton is our pick until proven otherwise, followed by Kaplan in a BMW. We feel a Spec Corvette will enter the picture, so Miranda is our choice.

In short – sit back and watch this one, it’ll be fun.

Touring 3

If you have a driver who finished second two years ago, then came back and took the Tire Rack Pole and the race win, and this year leads the Hoosier Racing Tire SCCA Super Tour points in the class – don’t overthink it when trying to decide who could win.

That gives us Nic Hammann and his Nissan to top the Touring 3 class, though history says it won’t be easy.

Scotty B. White is back again, and we get the feeling he won’t stop until he gets a win (and even then, he’ll be back). Is this the year and the class that the stars align?

You want fun? Aaron Stehly did a Drivers’ School as a younger man, showed up at the Runoffs in 2009 to finish third, then left to raise a family. He’s a bit of a Volkswagen expert, and he’s back in business this year with a Volkswagen Golf R. We’ve got our eye on him.

Steve Johnson is in the ex-Kulach Nissan, and we know those cars are fast around Road America. William Bolt’s name has shown up in the Touring 2 prediction, so we’re not going to be wrong by leaving him out of this one. Gamaliel Aguilar-Gamez is yet another fast Nissan, so let’s put him in contention.

If we have to narrow it down, we’ll stick with our initial reaction. It’s Hammann to repeat, White in second, and Stehly with a podium return.

Touring 4

Teammates Matt Spicuzzi and Alex Lozano controlled the 2025 race from the front of the field, and then finished one-two to take those medals. If you can see any reason that changes, you’ve got a better future as a prognosticator than we do.

We’re even taking them in the same order, though who knows how they may settle things amongst themselves.

If you want a wild card? How about 15-year-old Madin Workman to put himself in the mix? The third-generation racer would love to follow in his father’s footsteps as a National Champ – of course, Mason attended the Runoffs for 22 years before his F Production title; Madin has seven more years to even be 22-years old. But the kid is quick and has an excellent chance to play spoiler.

Also on our list? Mario Carini looks strong, and we’re sticking to our policy of not leaving Scotty B. White off any list.

Let’s start with Spicuzzi and Lozano, then look for the youngster Workman coming third. But we’ll be watching this battle, because anything can happen.
