No, we haven’t announced the 2026 Tire Rack SCCA® Time Attack Challenge schedule. No, we also haven’t said where and when SCCA Targa events will take place in the coming year. That’s about to change.

Sort of.

While we’re still going to leave you in anticipation of the ins and outs of the complete nationwide Time Attack Challenge series to come in ’26, we’re about to drip some tasty details in front of you — just enough to whet your whistle and let you pop some dates onto your calendar. Those morsels are also going to include some exciting SCCA Targa news.

It’ll Be a June Jamboree

Ever driven Carolina Motorsports Park at speed? If “no” is your answer, then trust us when we say that this is a track and facility you need to experience. If the answer is “yes,” then you’re already sold on the idea of hitting the 14-turn, 2.279-mile circuit in Kershaw, SC, for a weekend of #funwithcars.

Cutting to the chase, on June 13-14, 2026, the Tire Rack SCCA Time Attack Challenge will converge on the circuit lovingly known as CMP — a track, it should be added, that has been a regular stop on SCCA’s National Time Trials schedule since 2019. You could say it’s back by popular demand…because it is!

From high-speed sweepers to technical switchbacks, CMP offers something for all skill levels and horsepower. And in 2026, it’s once again going to offer something for SCCA Targa participants, because the June 13-14, 2026, weekend will mark the end point for SCCA Targa’s southern adventure.

SCCA’s multi-day Targa that wrapped at CMP in 2025 was an utter blast, combining adventure and thrills that wove a number of bucket list tracks into a road-going experience the participants will remember for years to come.

What will SCCA Targa’s southern journey hold in store this year? More fun, more memories —more, more, more!

An August Adventure to Remember

The next weekend to mark on your calendar is Aug. 1-2, 2026. That weekend, the Tire Rack SCCA Time Attack Challenge will return to Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, IL, for its second time at the track. Believe it or not, 2025 marked the first time the Time Attack Challenge took a look at this amazing racing circuit, and the action that unfolded was second to none.

Like in 2025, the 2026 go-round at Autobahn will also include SCCA Targa, as the Aug. 1-2, 2026, weekend will mark the conclusion of that multi-day experience.

Which other Chicago-area tracks will this leg of SCCA Targa also include? Fun ones — that much we can tell you.

What Are You Talking About?

If you’re new — and all of us were new at some point — let’s break it down.

The Tire Rack SCCA Time Attack Challenge is a nationwide series of timed, on-track competition event where you pit yourself against other drivers (split into a variety of classes) for a weekend of fun. Your fastest time from Saturday adds to your fastest Sunday time for your overall score, with the top three from each class celebrating on the KONI Podium.

Or, presented in video form…

What is SCCA Targa? Think Time Attack Challenge, but taking place over multiple days at a variety of facilities, with other elements tossed in for added thrills. In any given SCCA Targa event, you may compete in a Time Attack, a TrackSprint, an autocross, or even a RoadRally. On top of that, there are transit and social media challenges to boot. Yet while everything adds together for a final score, SCCA Targa events are largely about fun and community.

In short, everyone’s a winner at SCCA Targa events.

More to Come

SCCA will soon be releasing the entire 2026 Tire Rack SCCA Time Attack Challenge schedule (which, as always, will include some amazing tracks you’ll want to get time on). The Club will also be unveiling more SCCA Targa events that’ll be hitting the streets in 2026 (expect one in the northeast and another in Texas).

When will those be announced? Soon! But come on, first we’ve at least got to host the Sept. 19-21, 2025, Tire Rack SCCA Time Trials Nationals at Pittsburgh International Race Complex.

Speaking of which, there’s still time to enter Time Trials Nationals — you should go for it!

Before yinz crack open an Iron Cities beer and put some Heinz on a panini (the fries are already there), you should know a few things about the Sept. 19-21, 2025, Tire Rack SCCA® Time Trials Nationals at Pittsburgh International Race Complex (Pitt Race).

First things first: Yes, Time Trials Nationals is part of the Tire Rack SCCA Time Attack Challenge season. And yes, even though this event is taking place at Pitt Race for the first time ever, it’s still the Time Trials Nationals.

What’s different? A season-long point race that culminates at Pitt Race.

Don’t get us wrong, a win at Time Trials Nationals is still a huge deal. Like, super big. But this year, the points race adds a new element of drama and intrigue to the already exciting weekend.

How the Points Work

The best two regular season performances at Tire Rack SCCA Time Attack Challenge weekends get added to your Tire Rack SCCA Time Trials Nationals finish to give you your season-long class points.

But there’s a twist.

During the regular season, it’s 10 points for a win, 7 points for second, 5 for third, 3 for a fourth-place finish, 2 for fifth, and 1 for sixth. That’s right, points are only for first through sixth. Add in an extra point for a track record, and that’s the total for that event. Take your two best Time Attack Challenge weekends, add the points together, and that’s your total heading into Time Trials Nationals.

The Pitt Race showdown then cranks up the drama.

During Time Trials Nationals, more points are available. It’s still the top six, but on a 16/12/10/8/6/4 scale from first to sixth. Set a track record? That’s now worth 5 points! But don’t think that new track record will come easy — while this is the first time Time Trials Nationals has been hosted at Pitt Race, the series has been going to that facility pretty regularly since 2019, meaning any new track records will need to be earned.

The Leader Board

We won’t run down all of the point battles — you can find that listing here — but we will say that no one has locked down a title just yet.

Twelve drivers across all classes have 22 points — two wins and two track records. In Sport 2, it’s currently a tie at the top between Brian Smith and Tim Mason, each with 22, while Richard Michael Sawicki II and Ryan Carwile are also tied with 22 points each in Tuner 5.

In Club Spec Mustang, Michael Bard leads Trevor Kindlon by a single point, 22 to 21. It’s the same story in Tuner 1 between Jason Anderson and Ben Bulthuis. In Sport 5, the delta is the same between Hiroshi Witt leading Aldrin Natividad, although the point count is different.

In Max 2, the gap between leader Michael Kubiak and Robert Howard Wilmoth III is barely three points —since the point earning potential is cranked up for Time Trials Nationals, this is as much of a dead heat as those currently tied at 22.

All of this is to say that if you’re even upwards of 15 points behind and your main competitor isn’t attending Time Trials Nationals, a class win could be enough to lock in the season-long title

Beyond the Points

Whether you’re going for an event win, the points title, or you’re just looking for a good time — the Sept. 19-21, 2025, Tire Rack SCCA Time Trials Nationals will offer more than on-track action. It’s going to offer so much eye candy with SUPERFLY on site.

What’s SUPERFLY? We covered that in this announcement, but the long and short of it is it’s an awesome car show that celebrates vehicles from the 1990s and 2000s, although all makes and models are welcome. Yet it’s more than a car show — it’s a lifestyle that keeps the party going.

In other words, from the moment you arrive at Pitt Race until you pull out on Sunday, it’ll be nonstop #funwithcars.

Want to be a part of it? The event’s coming up fast, and we want you there! Whether you’re a participant, volunteer, or spectator, it’s going to be awesome.
