SCCA® RallyCross® is the beast everyone wants to tame. Problem is, it’s all but impossible to be perfect at this sport. With every run counting toward your overall score while course conditions are changing from run to run, RallyCross is arguably the Club’s most challenging motorsport. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try — and if you’ve never tried, now’s the time to jump in. Why? Because the 2025 RallyCross Divisional Challenge is set to begin its final four events, and there’s no reason why you shouldn’t enter one…or two, or all four.

This year’s RallyCross Divisional Challenge kicked off with the Southern Pacific Challenge at the Camp Verde Equestrian Center in Camp Verde, AZ. That mid-February event drew RallyCrossers from far and wide to see who would land on top as many drivers began their prep for the season-ending RallyCross National Championship, taking place this October in Hollytree, AL.

But the Southern Pacific Challenge was only the warmup. Four more events are gearing up, and it’s time for you to hit the dirt.

SCCA Central RallyCross Divisional Challenge

This one takes place AFTER the RallyCross National Championship, which is fantastic for those who want to keep the RallyCross Divisional Challenge party going year-round. Taking place Nov. 8-9, 2025, and dubbed the “Freeze Your Curds Off” Central RallyCross Divisional Challenge, this Iowa Region event at Wiegel Farm in Shullsburg, WI, is sure to please. Notable is that this two-day event offers drivers the opportunity to compete on Saturday only, on Sunday only, or all weekend long.

Remember how we said that winners of RallyCross Divisional Challenge events score Tier 1 registration at the RallyCross National Championship? Since the Central RallyCross Divisional Challenge takes place after the National Championship event, winners from this particular event will scorescore Tier 1 registration for the 2026 RallyCross National Championship.

(Looking for an inside line on the Club? “Inside the SCCA” is a podcast that features interviews with the Club’s leading personalities, but it’s not owned by SCCA®. Instead, it’s an independent media outlet managed by Rule 15 Productions and hosted by longtime SCCA member and journalist Brian Bielanski. He uses the Club’s name with permission.)

On this week’s Inside the SCCA presented by RaceSchool.com podcast, host Brian Bielanski visits with SCCA® Hill Climber, Time Attack driver, and Central Carolinas Region member Ryan Cheek. Ryan is getting ready to compete in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb for the second time. Brian and Ryan talk about what she learned in her rookie run at the iconic event, and what she intends to do differently this year.

Ryan is one of those Club members everyone roots for. She’s full of positivity yet unafraid to talk about the not-so-good stuff, which makes for a great conversation about what it’s like to attempt a discipline many of us have on our bucket list.
