Feeling a little rusty after a longer-than-normal off-season, but looking forward to some #fuwithcars soon as events (finally) start popping up across the country? Us, too.
Before you head out to your first autocross or track event, make sure to give your vehicle a once-over. Here to help you with that is Dave and the rest of our friends over at TireRack.com. They’ve put together a quick–yet thorough–video on what to look for when inspecting your tires, wheels and brake components to make sure your vehicle is in tip-top shape before heading back out on the asphalt for some spirited driving. Have a look at the seven-minute video below. If you find anything questionable, the Tire Rack team is in your corner to make sure you get everything back in tip-top shape.
As SCCA events resume around the country, several companies have vowed support for 2020 Tire Rack SCCA® Solo® Championship Tour and competitors through contingency sponsorship programs. The group of corporate partners includes auto makers, tire manufacturers, brake manufactures and other companies that make and sell motorsports-related equipment.
A full rundown of contingencies can be viewed at https://www.scca.com/pages/solo-contingency. Many opportunities require pre-registration with SCCA and/or with the sponsoring company. Details and instructions to register for each of these programs are available at the SCCA Solo contingency webpage. It is the responsibility of each competitor to make sure they are in compliance with each program for which they would like to enroll.
2020 Tire Rack SCCA Championship Tour contingency partners include:
– Hawk Performance, Official Brake Products of SCCA (Platinum — All Classes) All Classes: 1st-$100 certificate 2nd-$75 certificate 3rd-$50 certificate
Again, it is the responsibility of each driver to make sure they are eligible to receive any contingency awards in which they are interested.
