The Track Night 2020 season will begin on April 1st, but we just couldn’t help ourselves and had to schedule a few events across the country before then. There are some of us who just can’t stand to be away from racetracks for so long over the winter, and we have the feeling we’re not alone. We’d love to see you out for our pre-season events at the following locations:

MotorSport Ranch Cresson – March 10th

Palm Beach International Raceway – March 10th

Harris Hill Raceway – March 11th

NOLA Motorsports Park – March 12th

Thunderhill Raceway Park – March 19th

Carolina Motorsports Park – March 19th

Memphis International Raceway – March 24th

Registration for these events will open on Tuesday, February 4th, at 11:00 am CST. You’ll be able to sign up at http://www.TrackNightinAmerica.com. Keep an eye out for us to announce the full 2020 schedule soon.
See you at the track!

Your tire represents your vehicle’s only contact with the ground. And, as with any piece of machinery, your weakest link is your limiting factor. Are your tires your weakest link? Do you have the proper tires for the conditions you’re regularly driving in? Driving a single set of tires all year round may seem innocent enough, but you need to know what you’re in for so you know what you can get out of.

DirtFish, a partner and friend to SCCA, knows all about finding grip in low-traction situations. In a recent article, they took a look at the differences between all season tires and their snow-focused counterparts:

“The more you’re willing to pony up for your tires, the better those tires are going to be. If you can, and your driving conditions call for it, we suggest picking up a set of all season tires and a set of snow tires. This way you cycle through more tread, each set will last longer, and your contact with the road will be optimal at all times.”
