Two Tire Rack SCCA® Solo® National Tour events on the same weekend – in opposite parts of the country – means a mess of cones being knocked across pavement all over the United States (although a few survived). We told you about the Tire Rack SCCA Grissom Solo National Tour already, so now it’s time to switch to what happened on the West Coast during the July 18-19, 2026, Tire Rack SCCA Packwood Solo National Tour.
If you don’t already know, you should: Hampton Mills in Packwood, WA, is one of the most picturesque locations in the entire country, and we don’t just mean for autocross. A logging community with mountain backdrops, it’s quiet. Well, it’s quiet, right up until the C Prepared cars disturb the elk’s slumber.
Truth is, this site continues to be a perennial destination, attracting participants from afar. Canadians often cross the border for this event, but they’re not the only ones making a journey. Lana Portanova from Yorktown, VA, was at Bristol Summer Nationals and Packwood. Plus, the Otis family made the trip from the Houston area.
Why are people willing to travel so far for this event? Well, this coming weekend, there’s a Tire Rack SCCA ProSolo at the same location. Back-to-back National Solo weekends with all the vacation activities? That makes the Pacific Northwest and Packwood a location that needs to be on your 2027 calendar.
Class Battles
The West Coast does things differently than other parts of the country, and some of that is evident by the 16-car Super Street class. Jacob Morrison (Porsche Cayman GT4) and Ron Bauer (Porsche 911 GT3) led the way, with Morrison holding a 0.454sec win over Bauer with Bill Zerr’s Acura NSX in third.
Some things never change, though, like the tight finish among Mazda Miatas in C Street. Nicholas Choma trailed after the opening day, but came back to top James Paulson by just 0.024sec at the end of Sunday.
EVs are popular on the West Coast, to no one’s surprise, and the EV class was a fight. Glen Hernandez led a battle of Tesla Model 3s, taking the top spot over Chris Cox. And no, he was not using the self-driving capabilities to pull it out.
Ewelina Szarkowicz used her G Street-ready Hyundai Elantra N to take the top spot in Ladies Street Tire Bump. The index-based results saw her take the title over Katherine Clarke and her E Street-eligible Toyota MR2 Spyder and Julie Woodbury’s Super Street Porsche Cayman.
Annie Gill was tops in Ladies Street Touring Bump, using her C Street Touring Toyota GR86 to better Shelby Redding’s Honda CRX Si.
Daniel McCelvey was the best overall, based on Index runs. McCelvey won C Street Touring in his Toyota GR86, topping Garrett Cogburn’s Honda S2000 by 0.845sec. Cogburn was third overall according to the Index, making McCelvey’s margin of victory even more impressive.

There’s only one more Solo National Tour event this season, and that’s the Tire Rack SCCA Finger Lakes Solo National Tour at Seneca Army Depot in Romulus, NY. That event takes place July 31-Aug. 2.
