Only one week away is the Chicago Region June Sprints® presented by WeatherTech®, which is shaping up to be the largest Hoosier Racing Tire SCCA® Super Tour (HST) race weekend of the year. Part of the Summit Racing Equipment SCCA Road Racing program, the 2026 event already has more than 300 entrants lined up for the June 5-7 contest at Road America. That is the venue often referred to as America’s National Park of Speed and host of the 2026 National Championship Runoffs®.
There’s still time for drivers and volunteers to register for what will be an exciting three-day event in the parklike Kettle Moraine region of Wisconsin, with two races for each run group this year. Be sure to check out SCCA partners like Tire Rack, Hagerty insurance, Hawk brakes, and Öhlins suspension before traveling to Elkhart Lake for what will be a fantastic party. As for Sunoco race fuel, you can find it on site at Road America.

Schedule Loaded with Track Time
This year’s June Sprints will have 25 different car classes spread across nine run groups, with each group having two races during the weekend. Things get cranking Friday, June 5, with 25-minute qualifying sessions for everyone. That is followed by a second 25-minute qualifying session for the first six run groups.
On-track activity restarts at 8 a.m. Central Time Saturday, June 6, with 25-minute qualifying sessions for Groups 7, 8, and 9. Then we go racing at 9:45 a.m. local time as all run groups get a shot at the 4.048-mile, 14-turn circuit for 25-minute contests that decide the weekend’s first set of winners.
The excitement ratchets up once again at 8 a.m. Central Time Sunday, June 7, with 13-lap or 45-minute races for all but one run group. The outlier is Group 8 – consisting of GT-1, GT-2, GT-X, American Sedan® and Touring 1 cars – which is a slightly longer race consisting of 15 laps or 45 minutes.

Talent Building for June Sprints
Road America will again be the venue where National Champions are crowned in 2026 during SCCA’s Runoffs, so it’s no surprise that serious competitors are already signed up and ready to go for the June Sprints, an event offering drivers the chance to warm up before this fall’s winner-take-all challenge in Wisconsin.
At the time of this writing, Formula Vee®, Formula 600, and Formula F had well over a dozen contestants in each class, with at least one of those classes flirting with the 20-entrant mark. Any way you slice it, Group 2 will be exciting at the June Sprints.
In Group 3 you’ll find F Production (FP) with 18 entrants, one of which is reigning HST Nationwide Points Champion Mason Workman. Running in the same group is B-Spec with 18 drivers, too. Caleb Patrie inhabits that field, and he’s focused on improvement after finishing fourth at Road America during last year’s Runoffs.
“After how the Runoffs went last year, I’m really looking forward to going back to Road America knowing what the car is capable of,” Patrie said. “There are quite a few entries, and a lot of heavy hitters there. It’s going to be a tough race for sure, but I’m looking forward to the competition and seeing everyone again.”
Spec Racer® Ford Gen3 (SRF3) could very well be the largest field of the June Sprints with nearly 50 entries. Reigning SRF3 National Champion Caleb Shrader is scheduled to appear, as is last year’s Runoffs runner-up Brian Schofield. At Road America’s finish line during last year’s Runoffs, the difference between the two was a mere 0.012sec at the checkered flag. So, does Schofield seek redemption during the June Sprints? Two races will perhaps predict results for the coming Runoffs battle this fall.
Another ace in attendance at the June Sprints has won the Runoffs and earned SCCA’s Super Sweep award. He’s a Daytona 24 Hour winner, two-time Sebring 12 Hour winner, three-time Petit Le Mans winner, four-time Ferrari Challenge Champion, and much more. That man is Cooper MacNeil, who will serve as 2026 June Sprints Grand Marshal.
Dave Tatge, Regional Executive for Chicago Region, said, “Cooper has been a longtime member of Chicago Region and is a very accomplished racing driver. As someone who has achieved so much, we are honored to have him as our Grand Marshal and as our featured speaker during Saturday evening’s Worker Appreciation Party at the Road America Center.”
