The one and only Hoosier Racing Tire SCCA® Super Tour (HST) stop conducted within a major city is next on the schedule. The series’ annual visit to Portland International Raceway (PIR) always proves to be a memorable one – something that will once again be the case when SCCA’s Oregon Region hosts this annual motorsports getaway on May 9-10, 2026.
HST’s second and final West Coast event of the year, Portland, is a magnificent tourist destination with plenty of lodging and copious options for eats. The track is a fascination, too, as it’s positioned within a park that is practically alongside the Columbia River. Plus, the 1.977-mile circuit with 12 turns has hosted many pro events, including visits from NASCAR and IndyCar, making this a bucket list track for amateur racers.
Don’t miss your chance to play in Portland this year. Registration for drivers and volunteers is already open, so get signed up now to enjoy another fantastic, two-day event that is part of the Summit Racing Equipment SCCA Road Racing program.

Portland Players
Plenty of former SCCA National Champions plan to be at PIR, meaning the competition level will be high.
While not a Runoffs® winner (yet), Scotty B. White (the reigning Touring 2 and Touring 3 HST Nationwide Points Champion) is always in the mix. He’ll be looking for a win at Portland, as well as his first National Championship in 49 attempts later this fall at Road America.
The Spec Racer® Ford Gen3 (SRF3) group is stacked with drivers who have triumphed previously at HST races in Portland. But that SRF3 field also contains a relative newcomer in 15-year-old Asad Nikadambaev. He surprised many by taking a win on Sunday back in February during HST’s visit to Buttonwillow Raceway Park in California.
“I really can’t wait for the Hoosier Super Tour at Portland,” said Nikadambaev, who gobbled up four SRF3 victories in a row at PIR during an SCCA Double Regional in March. “That track really hooks up with me.”
Then there’s Quinn Posner, the Formula Vee® ace who claimed the last six victories in Portland during HST weekends. Even though he has several thousand laps under his belt at PIR, he has had to fight off competitors numerous times to keep his current streak alive. Still, that’s exactly what he hopes for from the upcoming race weekend.
“I’m perfectly happy finishing third if three of us are abreast at the finish line,” Posner said. “I do this because I want great racing – that’s what this whole thing is about.”

And while you’re prepping for the weekend, it doesn’t hurt to inspect your Öhlins suspension, Hagerty insurance, and Hawk brakes (all SCCA partners) before arriving in Portland. Be sure to fill up on Sunoco race fuel (another partner) as well because PIR has no pumps on site.
Portland’s Plan
Fun at PIR happens quickly across two days beginning 9 a.m. Pacific Time Saturday, May 9, with 20-minute qualifying sessions for each of the six run groups. After lunch, racing launches at 12:25 p.m. local time with 25-minute contests for each run group.
Sunday’s schedule also begins at 9 a.m. Pacific Time, with 15-minute qualifying for each run group. Racing is then slated to roll at 11:55 a.m. local time and continue throughout the afternoon with 35-minute or 25-lap contests that decide those who step upon the podium.
