The Top Two Reasons I’d Join Hagerty Drivers Club

If you’ve been around the Sports Car Club of America™ long enough, you’ve experienced articles on scca.com talking about Hagerty before. Truth is, Hagerty is so much more than “the official insurance partner of the SCCA® since 2019,” as the SCCA so often reminds you. From hosting Hagerty Track Days as part of Tire Rack SCCA Time Attack Challenge weekends to being the presenting sponsor of both race days at the National Championship Runoffs® to offering the Hagerty Keepin’ it Cool award at events like the Tire Rack SCCA Solo National Championships, Time Trials Nationals, Runoffs, and RallyCross® National Championship, Hagerty is deeply involved in the SCCA lifestyle. Even more so, Hagerty gets car culture, which is evident by the Hagerty Drivers Club – a program that offers numerous benefits for membership, although if you’re anything like me, you’ll find two of those benefits worth well more than the price of admission.

At its most basic, for $5.84 a month (or $70 billed annually), the Hagerty Drivers Club offers members six issues of the high quality Hagerty Drivers Club magazine, boasting features and insight that has all but disappeared from newsstands over the last decade. This magazine isn’t one you’ll read and discard, either – these are collectables.

Hagerty’s marketplace and classifieds site is an invaluable resource for anyone with an automotive sweet tooth. There, browsing, bidding, and buying is unlimited, but if you’re looking to list your cars on the classifieds section with any regularity, you’ll want the limitless feature that comes with being a part of the Hagerty Drivers Club.

It’s no secret that Hagerty marketplace is a weekly destination for me.

Tied to marketplace, Hagerty Drivers Club also offers unlimited vehicle value lookups via Hagerty’s valuation tools, which places more than 15 years of pricing history and data at your fingertips.

Enjoy hanging out with others of like mind? Hagerty Drivers Club offers early access, member pricing, and other exclusive benefits for events that are hosted across the nation.

Hagerty Drivers Club recently launched chapters late last year, with 16 markets currently live (Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Hartford/New Haven, Houston, Nashville, New York, Phoenix, Raleigh/Durham, Seattle/Tacoma, South Florida, Southern California, Toronto, Canada). What makes these chapters unique is that they’re car agnostic, which means you’ll see cars from every era and genre imaginable.

Hagerty Drivers Club also offers roadside services, exclusive offers on items like automotive parts, tools, tires, and more – plus there are deals like receiving $25 off SCCA Track Night in America® events and $50 discounts on SCCA’s Starting Line® schools. Math indicates that two to three uses of items like this means Hagerty Drivers Club quickly pays for itself.

Yet beyond all of that, there are two items that make the Hagerty Drivers Club seemingly irresistible to me.

First: Hagerty Drivers Club members receive access to the Chilton Library. That brings you automotive manuals, diagrams, and educational materials when you need them most, and from a name that’s WAY more trusted than a YouTube rando offering free advice for clicks.

Speaking of advice from sources you trust, the second top reason I’d join Hagerty Drivers Club is access to Hagerty’s in-house experts for help finding parts, shops, and services.

Yes, I want the magazine, too – that’s probably tied with my first and second reasons.

Add in the fact that some of your Hagerty Drivers Club dues will help fund the Hagerty Drivers Foundation, which aims to save driving for future generations through culture, leadership, and education, and suddenly that $5.84 a month is a steal.

But that’s why I’d join. Check out Hagerty Drivers Club for yourself.
