
The Sports Car Club of America’s By-laws (Article VI, Section 5) requires that the SCCA® Operations Manual be published at least triennially and be distributed to all field staff, office staff, Directors, and Regions. With this in mind, the Governance Committee of the SCCA Board of Directors (BoD) conducted a review of the document and presented their recommendation for updates to the BoD. The recommendation was voted on and approved by the BoD on May 30, 2025, and an updated version of the SCCA Operations Manual was uploaded to the Membership Account Portal.
The SCCA Operations Manual can be located by logging in to my.scca.com, selecting the “File Cabinet” link under the “Member Resources” menu, then clicking “General Information.”
In addition to changes needed for minor clarifications and readability, the following summary of updates were approved by the Board of Directors:
- SCCA Event Insurance – Clarified location for insurance information eliminating "insurance handbook" reference in a number of areas
- SCCA Competition Events – Updated and clarified section regarding requirements for contracts for event sites
- Co-Scheduled Events – Moved this section from the Road Racing section to clarify the relevance to all programs
- SCCA Track Review Program – Updated language regarding how SCCA track reviews are conducted
- SCCA Region Charter Renewal – Added new language related to renewal of SCCA Region charter process
- SCCA Regional Charter – Updated language regarding financial responsibility for audits
- Endurance Racing Program – Renamed the Endurance Racing Program and corrected references throughout the section
- SCCA Events Outside Region Boundaries – Updates to this section to clarify notification/approval requirements
- General – Updated overall language to meet SCCA’s Welcoming Environment statement and new Language Guide
