The opening of the 2021 SCCA® National Championship Runoffs® registration also means it is time for competitors to again register for a multitude of Runoffs-specific contingency opportunities before the event’s return to Indianapolis Motor Speedway September 25–October 3, 2021.
As a reminder, the Runoffs-specific contingency program is different from and in addition to any programs a driver may have been participating in throughout the year.
Of note: many drivers may have been “scared off” from registering for contingency programs in the past because of the belief that programs only paid out for top finishes. This is no longer true; many programs pay deeper in the field than ever and to random positions. Not to mention, at the Runoffs, anything can happen – so sign up for any eligible program.
Registering for Runoffs programs has never been easier. Registration for contingencies will be conducted through MotorsportReg.com to streamline the procedure. Competitors can simply sign up online for the appropriate contingencies at the time of event registration (which opens Wednesday, July 14 at 11:00 AM EDT). Changes can also be made up to Sunday, September 12 through MotorsportReg.com. After that, drivers may adjust selections on site at the contingency services area at the Runoffs.
