Major Announcement Planned for SCCA Presidential Virtual Town Hall Wednesday

The first-ever virtual Town Hall hosted by SCCA® President and CEO Mike Cobb starts at 9 p.m. Eastern/6 p.m. Pacific this Wednesday, Sept. 30, through the GoToMeeting videoconference platform. And to make this a very special event, plans are in the works for a major announcement to be made during the meeting.

The informative Town Hall is open to all SCCA members. Those wishing to join the session only need a computer or smartphone. However, pre-registration is required.

In what will become quarterly Town Hall presentations, videoconference technology will be utilized to provide a more effective and timelier communication to Membership on all aspects of the Club, and will also allow for more two-way communication between Membership and Executive Leadership.

“While the impact of COVID-19 has negatively impacted all of us, it also served as a catalyst for the SCCA family to try new ways of sharing, communicating and connecting,” Cobb said. “While we will always prefer in-person interaction with members, today’s videoconferencing tools do provide an excellent means of effectively reaching the SCCA family with important info and updates as we carry on with support for members and those that serve the members.”

Along with the special announcement, the Sept. 30 Town Hall will include a 2020 year-to-date update, a look at SCCA’s championship season, review of the upcoming Area Director elections and implementation of new bylaws, an update on the Junior Driver Program, and news about the 2021 SCCA National Convention. Time permitting, Cobb will also conduct a short Q&A with those in attendance.

Be sure to register today for Wednesday’s Town Hall and set your alarm for the 9 p.m. Eastern/6 p.m. Pacific start so you don’t miss any important information from SCCA.
