Hi All,
Thank you again for signing up to be a part of the 2022 Tire Rack SCCA Solo Nationals! This year we are celebrating the 49th running of this major event, and we can’t wait to be back at the Airpark with everyone as we head Back to the Eighties. This is the third edition of a weekly Monday bulletin for Solo Nationals competitors containing valuable information you should know. Expect one each Monday from now until Nationals.
Please take a few minutes each week to read through everything and by doing so you will be well prepared to have a rad week at Solo Nationals!
- Individual Paddock Registration Closes August 25
Registration for Individual Paddock Spaces will close August 25. If you are wanting to pick your paddock spot, please make sure you do so before then! To select a paddock spot, simply click on an available spot on the Paddock Map and complete the Registration Form. If you just need a space but aren’t particular about where shoot an email to Paddock Chief Mat at solopaddock@scca.com and let him know so he can assign you a home for the week.
After registration closes, Mat will be working to convert the map from registration mode to view/search mode in preparation for everyone arriving on site. If you do not request a spot ahead of time, but find that you need one on-site, we will still have a few spots available for this purpose.
- Run/Work Order, Event Schedule, & Supps Posted
In case you missed it, the Run/Work Order was posted last week. The run/work order is always a giant jigsaw puzzle, and this year was no exception. Balancing class size, open and ladies’ classes, as well as cars competing in multiple classes, are just some of the things the Worker Chief has to look at each year.
Also now posted for your review are the event schedule and the supplemental regulations. Please review them for important items such as:
- sharing the paddock with a taxiway (don’t stop or park in the active taxiway!)
- use of the National Tour stage/start lights (including a stage/start light explanation document)
- impound and weighing procedures (officials may ask for components to be removed during the impound process and competitors should have the proper tools available in the grid for removal and reinstallation of said components, ie a jack and necessary tools for removal & jack stands to support the raised vehicle)
- protest & appeals procedures (including link for filing electronically)
- Air Force display in grid
- Welcome Party, Women on Track Brunch, Welcome Lincoln Car Show
- Tire Rack Solo Awards Celebration
- and more!
- Waivers & Wristbands
Don’t forget that you have the option to take care of your waiver ahead of the event! We highly encourage you to take advantage of this – then all you have to do is show the gate staff your credentials and get your event armband in exchange. You’ll be through the gate in a snap!
Links to the SCCA annual waiver instructions and the SpeedWaiver option can be found below.
- Annual Waiver Instructions (including minor waiver information)
- SpeedWaiver
If you are a competitor under the age of 19 (or have a competitor under the age of 19), please email Tracy Lewis at tlewis@scca.com so that we are aware and can help make sure the minor waiver is taken care of correctly ahead of the event. Remember, in Nebraska, the age of majority is 19, so don’t let that catch you unaware!
- Worker Descriptions
The Chief of Workers has put together a job description for all Solo Nationals worker assignments. Whether you are a seasoned veteran or new to National Solo events we encourage everyone to read them over so that everyone is prepared and on the same page. You can refresh your memory here: https://www.scca.com/downloads/63810-2022-solo-nationals-work-assignment-descriptions
- Text Notifications
Want help keeping up with what’s going on throughout the week? Subscribe to text notifications! As usual, there are 6 text keywords, which can be found here. The general info and emergency text keywords will be used to share information for the entire event while the 4 course-specific keywords will help keep you updated on specific courses. QR codes will also be available on-site for simple sign-up.
- Last Day to Register for Solo Nationals Online is August 29
If you have any friends who have not yet registered, let them know that the last day to register is next Monday, August 29. Registration closes at 3pm Central!
- Update to Paddock Marshal Information
If you need to contact a Paddock Marshal during the week, the following folks will be your contacts:
- Friday, Sept 2 – Wednesday, Sept 7: Steve Eberlein at 817 999 9878
- Thursday, Sept 8 – Friday, Sept 9: Sean Dudgeon at 405 206 4116
- Want Some Spending Money?
Are you getting on site early? Want some extra spending money for the week? We’re looking for 15-18 course workers for the ProSolo Finale Challenge brackets on Sunday, September 4th! Challenge rounds should start at approximately 1:30pm Central.
If you’d be interested in working the Finale Challenges in exchange for $30, simply email Kerry at bipodaz@gmail.com to sign up! This would be in addition to any work assignments you are already responsible for (ProSolo Finale or Solo Nationals) and you would not be able to run the Challenges if you qualify for them.
Have a great evening!
