The first of two qualifying days is complete at Road America for the 62nd SCCA® National Championship Runoffs® Presented by Sunoco, taking place Sept. 29 through Oct. 5, 2025, in Wisconsin. Each of the 23 classes competing this year had 21-minute sessions on track so contestants could post their best time around the iconic 4.048-mile, 14-turn circuit that has challenged the best road racers from around the world for 70 years.
It was a “Chamber of Commerce” day in Elkhart Lake as conditions were simply wonderful. Skies were blue all Thursday and temperatures peaked in the low 70-degree range. But Runoffs qualifying is only halfway done and tomorrow may bring about different conditions. Nonetheless, current qualifying results, an entry list, event schedule, facility map, and much more can be found at the 2025 Runoffs event webpage button linked below.

'25 Runoffs Qualifying Results
Last Qualifying Chance Friday
One down, but one big one to go as far as Runoffs qualifying is concerned. Friday qualifying reveals who will lead their respective fields to the green flag over two Hagerty Race Days that decide National Champions within the Summit Racing Equipment SCCA Road Racing Program.
But even more is at stake because Friday is Hawk “Brake-Through Performer” day. One driver from each competition class who makes the biggest improvement in qualifying position from Thursday to Friday receives a free set of Hawk brake pads for street cars, race cars, or tow vehicles. Winners, however, must have posted a qualifying time Thursday to be eligible for this reward.
Of course, Friday evening will see the Tire Rack Pole Award celebration at Road America’s victory circle. Each Tire Rack Pole Award winner receives $500 to spend at Tire Rack. Equally important is the competitive and psychological advantage gained by starting out front. It’s all a race to see who reaches the checkered flag first on their way to victory podium celebrations to uncork and spray a bottle from Mazza Vineyards, the Runoffs’ Official Sparkling Wine supplier for the last decade.
Catch qualifying developments online with live timing/scoring, as well as an audio presentation, found at SCCA.com/live. Announcers Gregg Ginsberg and Dan Bullis are behind microphones to cover qualifying developments, too, which can be heard at SCCA’s Official YouTube Channel.
