From California’s desert to a superspeedway in Daytona, the red clay outside Atlanta or coastal hills of Monterey, and through sunny days or hurricane remnants; Sports Car Club of America™ has crowned Road Racing’s best across the country for more than 60 years at a winner-take-all National Championship gathering.
The tradition continues Sept. 29 through Oct. 5, 2025, during the 62nd SCCA® National Championship Runoffs® Presented by Sunoco taking place in Wisconsin at Road America in Elkhart Lake. It’s a crucial springboard for some seeking professional careers in auto racing, while others simply embrace the chance to compete against the best SCCA Summit Racing Equipment Road Racing drivers from around the country. Equally, it’s a perfectly fantastic excuse to meet up with longtime chums, make new friends, party and laugh like nobody’s business, and enjoy one last SCCA Road Racing hoorah before winter descends once again.
Nestled in the rolling Kettle Moraine hills between the charming towns of Elkhart Lake and Plymouth, Road America’s gorgeous and legendary 4.048-mile, 14-turn circuit again hosts the Runoffs this year. Established in 1955 and considered America’s National Park of Speed, the stunning venue is a park-like grounds with 640 acres of amazing spectator experiences and fantastic concessions that support high-speed excitement for hundreds of thousands of spectators each year.
Contestants are on track today and tomorrow getting some testing done to sort out cars and drivers. For a rundown of upcoming on-track activities, click the button below to access the current event schedule.
VIP Experience for Everyone
The SCCA Runoffs Presented by Sunoco ain’t no elitist racing weekend. It’s a celebration of motorsport for everyone who loves #funwithcars, starting Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. with a track walk around Road America for anyone on site. Circuit entry is at “pit out” and wear comfortable shoes because cars, trucks, ATVs, side‐by‐side vehicles, scooters, and two‐wheeled motorized vehicles are NOT permitted on course during the open walk period. Golf carts, team tuggers, pedal bicycles, and ADA Mobility Devices are allowed, but can only travel at a normal walking speed.
Also happening this evening at 6 p.m. is the Formula Vee Hall of Fame Ceremony taking place at Victory Circle. The Volunteer Worker Refuel will be going on, too, over at the Road America Center with some food and beverages for the folks making it all happen.
Wednesday evening presents another chance for exercise, but with a fantastic excuse for an early end to the workout. A track walk will start again at 6 p.m., just the same as Tuesday night. However, feel free to call it quits at the bottom of the Moraine Sweep for the Turn 5 Tailgate. That’s where you’ll find free drinks, brats, burgers, friends, music and more.
Runoffs happenings at Road America are pretty much open to anyone on site. The Runoffs maps link below will help you find things and people.
Make the Trip to Road America
The Runoffs at Road America is an experience that shouldn’t be missed. The sights, sounds and smells are best enjoyed in person, and spectator ticket prices are very reasonable for a motorsports event of this magnitude.
A three-day pass, which is good Oct. 3-5, is only $80 at the entry gate and includes parking and paddock access. Single-day admission is cheap at $30 for Friday, or $45 for Saturday or Sunday.
