We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: SCCA® mash-up events are the best. SCCA’s mash-up weekends involve a multitude of ways to have #funwithcars during the same weekend – all you need is a car equipped with components that can handle the fun. The idea of participating in a Track Night in America Driven by Tire Rack, an SCCA Autocross, and maybe even a RallyCross® all in the same weekend in the same car isn’t farfetched – but to do so, you need a car that can take a lickin’ and keep on tickin’. By and large, that means keeping up with vehicle maintenance and installing the right performance parts.
Say, for instance, you drive one of the hottest chassis in SCCA right now: 2022+ Toyota GR86 and Subaru BRZ. These twins pump 228hp from a 2.4L boxer engine to the rear tires for a rollicking good time, and have proven quite fun in D Street autocross competition as well as at Track Night in America events and in Tuner 3 and Sport 4 in Time Trials National Tours – and could certainly rip it up at a RallyCross. You could run this kind of car bone stock at any (or all) of these events, but if you want to dial up the fun, we suggest contacting SCCA partner KONI.
If you’re competing in a class with specific suspension rules, you’ll want to ensure the dampers you purchase are legal, but by and large, KONI is a fantastic starting point. The famous Sport dampers – which KONI now has available for the 2022+ GR86 and BRZ – offer rebound adjustment in a durable and cost-effective package, and would certainly be up for the task of an SCCA mash-up weekend.

We’re not saying you need to enter multiple events in a single SCCA mash-up weekend – one entry is fun enough for many of us. We’re just saying that if you choose to enter motorsports events, you’ll want to ensure that your vehicle’s components are up to the challenge, and one way to do that is by installing quality components.
