At A Glance: '20 St. Louis Hoosier Super Tour

Storylines/Things to Watch:

Hoosier Racing Tire SCCA® Super Tour is Back! -- February was when the Hoosier Racing Tire SCCA® Super Tour last held an event, that one being at Buttonwillow Raceway Park in California. Since then, well, pandemic stuff happened. But this weekend, May 30-31, the Hoosier Super Tour is back on track at World Wide Technology Raceway just east of downtown St. Louis in Madison, Illinois, for the Gateway 1.6 Sprints presented by STLCOM.com, a weekend made possible by SCCA’s St. Louis Region and Southern Illinois Region.

New Venue, New Challenges -- Thanks to SCCA’s St. Louis Region and Southern Illinois Region, the Hoosier Super Tour is making its first-ever visit to World Wide Technology Raceway for the Gateway 1.6 Sprints presented by STLCOM.com. The 1.65-mile, seven-turn circuit will be run counterclockwise and utilizes part of the venue’s oval. Something else new this weekend will be measures put in place to impede the spread of coronavirus. Strict COVID-19: Road Race Event Guidelines will be deployed, and participants are HIGHLY encouraged to carefully review the new standards before arriving at the track.

No Spectators -- Normally, SCCA loves to have spectators at Hoosier Super Tour events to watch all the awesome cars and competition. But because of COVID-19 and social distancing requirements, spectators will NOT be allowed at this Hoosier Super Tour event. Those who register as volunteer workers, however, can lend a helping hand WHILE enjoying some top-notch competition in person. Each individual planning to come into the track MUST register at Motorsportsreg.com, and drivers are limited to bringing no more than three SCCA members for support.

Follow the Action Online -- Just because spectators can’t be at the track doesn’t mean fans have to miss Hoosier Super Tour excitement over the course of the weekend. As usual, people can keep track of the action online at www.scca.com/live with live static video cameras, live timing and scoring, and the usual Super Tour Radio presented by Hoosier Racing Tire broadcast.
