Tire Rack Extreme Performance Tire Test

Recently, our friends at Tire Rack tested extreme performance summer tires. The four tires tested were the BFGoodrich g-Force Rival S1.5, Bridgestone Potenza RE-71R, Dunlop Direzza ZIII and Yokohama ADVAN A052.

According to Tire Rack, the Bridgestone Potenza RE-71R has been the king of the hill in this group for years. Since its introduction, there have been scores of competitors released, and with every new tire announced, the enthusiast community has wondered if this would be "the one" that knocks Bridgestone from its place at the top. Some have come close; others have mostly achieved parity in one metric or another, but none have succeeded at truly moving the bar by exceeding the all-around performance of the category benchmark.

Did that status change after Tire Rack’s latest test session that took place on a 1/3-mile course that included 90-degree street corners, a five-cone slalom and simulated expressway ramps? Find out for yourself by reviewing the results here. You can also review the Tire Rack test videos here.
