At A Glance: '19 Hallett Hoosier Super Tour

Storylines/Things to Watch:
Hoorah for Hallett – A favorite amongst Midwest racers, Hallett Motor Racing Circuit is a 1.8-mile, 10-turn road course in the rolling Osage Hills of North Eastern Oklahoma. It is located 35 miles west of Tulsa and has over 80 feet of elevation change. It has wide, grassy runoff areas and is unique in that it can be run in either clockwise or counterclockwise directions making it two completely different race courses. For this weekend’s Hoosier Super Tour event, the circuit will be run in the counterclockwise direction.

Ready to Race -- A handful of classes look to have pretty stout fields across the seven race groups scheduled to compete at Hallett.  Spec Racer Ford Gen3 comes in with 30 entries, and Spec Miata with 20 challengers -- which means both those races could get interesting on Saturday and Sunday.  Also keep an eye on the 13-car Super Touring® Lite crew in the seventh race, and the 12-car Formula Mazda (FM) class that includes defending Runoffs Champion Bryce Cornet.

Come One, Come All -- The weather at last year’s Hallett event was, um, character building at times with chilly temperatures and occasional sleet. But it doesn’t look like a repeat this year as temperatures are predicted to be in the 50s and only a slight chance of precipitation. Spectator tickets are only $10 per day, and children 11-years-old or younger are admitted free. For those unable to be trackside, follow along online with live timing/scoring, track video, Super Tour Radio presented by Hoosier Racing Tire and more via the SCCA® Pit Board available at www.scca.com/live.

Thanks to the Volunteers – Nearly 100 helpful souls will be on hand at Hallett to make the Hoosier Super Tour weekend a success. No matter where the SCCA races in the United States, dedicated member volunteers can be found organizing, registering, scoring, officiating and flagging during race weekends.  No event is possible without the help of these dedicated volunteers. Plus, volunteers who are already SCCA members get to attend the race for free and easily have the best seats in the house!
