At A Glance: '18 NOLA Hoosier Super Tour

Storylines/Things to Watch:
A 180 for NOLA -- The third Hoosier Racing Tire SCCA Super Tour event of 2018 takes place March 3-4 at the 2.75-mile, 16-turn NOLA Motorsports Park in Avondale, Louisiana.  So far, the event has around 180 entries, with Spec Miata and Spec Racer Ford Gen3 each boasting nearly 40 cars per class.  Once again, Super Touring® Lite has also come to play with 15 racers slated to participate.

Getting Busy – The 2018 Hoosier Super Tour schedule has one event taking place each month in January, February and March.  But the pace quickens after this weekend’s event at NOLA Motorsports Park. In April, three race weekends are on the calendar, starting with Hallett Motor Racing Circuit in Jennings, Oklahoma, on April 7-8; VIRginia International Raceway in Alton, Virginia, on April 13-15; and then Buttonwillow Raceway Park in Buttonwillow, California, on April 27-29 to wrap up a busy month.

A Helping Hand – The largest single group entry for the Hoosier Super Tour weekend at NOLA Motorsports Park easily goes to the more than 60 SCCA members who have signed up as volunteers. SCCA is a membership organization and, as such, utilizes volunteers to put on events. These people organize, register, score, officiate and work flag stations during race weekends.  No event is possible without the help of selfless volunteers.

Free to See -- The Hoosier Super Tour this weekend at NOLA Motorsports Park is absolutely free to attend for spectators. Could be a little damp at times, so don’t forget to bring a raincoat and umbrella.  But also, be ready for some exciting competition on a slick track.  Of course, those who can’t make it to Louisiana this weekend can follow all the action at www.scca.com/live with live timing/scoring, trackside video cameras and Super Tour Radio presented by Hoosier Racing Tire.
