Hoosier Racing Tire SCCA® Super Tour
March 24-26:
Circuit of the Americas -- Austin, Texas

Storylines/Things to Watch:
Triumphant Return to COTA -- SCCA’s premier amateur road racing series returns March 24-26 to Circuit of the Americas for the first time in four years for this weekend’s Hoosier Racing Tire SCCA® Super Tour. Home of Formula One’s United States Grand Prix since 2012, the challenging 20-turn, 3.41-mile course runs in a counterclockwise direction and takes advantage of the naturally undulating landscape that includes an intimidating 133-foot hill at Turn 1. More than 330 drivers will help celebrate the SCCA’s return to COTA this weekend.

Spec Racer Ford Gen3 Fiesta – With a field nearing 80 cars, Spec Racer Ford Gen3 races this weekend at the Circuit of the Americas Hoosier Racing Tire SCCA® Super Tour will most likely be an absolute thrill. A quick glance through the driver lineup reveals the names of SCCA Runoffs® champions, as well as numerous conference champions. Currently, Cliff White has a scant three-point lead over Robeson Russell in the SRF3 Hoosier Super Tour Point Standings, and both drivers have registered to compete this weekend at Circuit of the Americas.

Spec Miata Swarm -- Spec Miata racers are going to make a strong showing, too, at Circuit of the Americas this weekend with more than 50 competitors registered to compete in the class over the two days. Just like the SRF3 class, the names of Runoffs® and conference champions are sprinkled throughout the entry list. Currently, Michael Carter has a 15-point lead in the SM Hoosier Super Tour Point Standings. However, Carter does not appear on the entry list. So, a new points leader may very well emerge by the close of racing on Sunday.

Springtime in Texas – The weather forecast Friday looks to be a little frightful as thunderstorms are predicted. But Saturday looks to be an absolutely beautiful spring day in Texas with clear skies and temperatures in the 80s, followed by a similar day Sunday containing some clouds. So visitors may want to have a little sunscreen on hand to be safe.
