Contingencies for 2016 Tire Rack SCCA Solo National Tour

TOPEKA, Kan. (March 10, 2016) – Once again in 2016, top finishers at each Tire Rack® SCCA National Tour event can collect contingency awards from several manufacturers and racing-related companies. The contingencies below apply to Tire Rack SCCA Solo Championship Tour and Tire Rack SCCA Match Tour Saturday events.

Hawk Performance, the Official Brake Products of SCCA, offers product certificates this year to podium finishers. The schedule breaks down to the winner earning a $100 certificate, second a $50 certificate and third able to claim a $25 certificate.

Mazda is back in 2016 with a $300 award for a win and $175 for second. For those competing in a 2002 or newer MINI vehicle with original MINI powertrain, MINI USA offers a cash prize of $250 for a win, $100 for second and $50 for third.

Several tire manufacturers are also supporting Tire Rack SCCA National Tour with some cash for top competitors. Drivers using Bridgestone rubber on all four corners can earn $200 for a class win, while the remaining two podium positions earn $150 and $100 each. Falken Tire, too, is offering cash prizes of $300, $200 and $100 to podium finishers, in that order, running on Falken products. And those using Toyo Proxes R1R tires, Toyo Tires will give a cash award of $300 to winners, $200 for second and $100 for the final podium position.

Kumho Tires is also helping those in the Solo community using Kumho rubber with product credits in the amount of $300, $200 or $150 for in-class podium finishes. That amount is doubled for any Street or Street Touring category. And those that arrive on the Match Tour podium can also win $300, $200 or $150 in product credits.

Hoosier Racing Tire is back aboard this year and awarding drivers using their product with two free tires for a win and one free tire for finishing second. BFGoodrich Tires is mirroring that offer, too, for those riding on BFGoodrich rubber, as well as two free tires for a win and one free tire for finishing second during Match Tour events.

And this year, FR Sport will be offering $75 product certificates to eligible winners, $50 certificates for those finishing second and $25 product certificates for third.

Many contingency opportunities require pre-registration. Details and instructions to register for each of these programs are available at the SCCA Contingency webpage.
