In H Street, Greg Reno wrapped up his fourth consecutive title. Reno held the day-one lead over the always-dangerous Darren Seltzer and did what was needed to defend his title. Reno was fast out of the box on the flowing East Course, and slowly worked down to his class-leading lap of 58.539 seconds. That was good enough to put him 0.232-second ahead of Seltzer at the end of the competition.

Christopher Carmenini was the only second-place driver from Heat 3 to make the jump into first on the West Course in CAM-Contemporary. Both Carmenini and Stephen Farkas were on it from the word go on the course that favored high-horsepower. As a result the first day leader, Jacob Meuth, finished the day in third place.

Mary Pozzi, in CAM-Traditional, was the leader at the end of both days of competition, but that does not tell the whole story. Pozzi and Indy 500 Champion Al Unser, Jr. swapped the class lead back and forth during both days of racing. In the end, it was Pozzi who came out on top after logging the best time of the day on her third run. She finished 0.653-second ahead of one of the most well-known racecar drivers born in the United States.
