Seven Saturday Grids set for Sebring Majors

SEBRING, Fla. (January 16, 2015) – Seven race groups are set to race Rounds Three and Four of the SCCA Southeastern Conference U.S. Majors Tour at Sebring International Raceway, part of the SafeRacer Club Racing Program. This is the second of six doubleheader race weekends that will count towards the Conference standings.

Cloudy skies and cool temperatures in the morning gave way to warmer conditions with plenty of sun by the end of the lunch-time break. The more favorable afternoon conditions resulted in faster times for many drivers around the 3.74-mile, 17-turn circuit as they set the girds for the sprint races.

The best times from the two 20-minute qualifying sessions will set the starting order for Saturday’s 30-minute timed races. On-track action begins at 8:00 a.m. (EST) as each race group will have a 10-minute warmup session before hitting the track for Round Three of racing, beginning at 10:20 a.m. (EST).

The starting order for Sunday’s seven feature races will be set by each driver’s quickest lap from the entire race weekend. The races are scheduled to last 20 laps or 40 minutes, whichever comes first, and will begin at 8:30 a.m. (EST).
