ProSolo Registration is at the Staging Lights, Don’t Throw Away Your Shot

The Tire Rack SCCA Solo National Championships gets a theme each year (this year is video games!), so why shouldn’t the Tire Rack SCCA ProSolo Finale also get in on the fun? Therein, this article’s author (with no official authority whatsoever) humbly suggests the musical Hamilton as a theme, because now that you’ve spent all season earning points to qualify for the Sept. 4-6, 2026, event in Lincoln, NE, the clock is counting down, so don’t throw away your shot.

Because just like your competitors, you’re young, scrappy, and hungry, and you’re not throwing away your shot.

Wait for it

I am the one thing in life I can control. (Wait for it, wait for it, wait for it, wait for it.)
I am inimitable, I am an original. (Wait for it, wait for it, wait for it, wait for it.)
I'm not falling behind or running late. (Wait for it, wait for it, wait for it, wait for it.)
I'm not standing still, I am lying in wait. (Wait for it, wait for it, wait for it, wait for it.)

That’s fine and dandy, Aaron Burr, sir, but don’t wait too long.

How long do you need to lie in wait before registering for the Tire Rack SCCA ProSolo Finale? There are three Tiers, and they’re all coming up:

Tier 1
The first set of competitors eligible to register for the ProSolo Finale are those who scored 34 points or more in the same class. For them, registration opens on Aug. 12 at 3 p.m. CT.

Tier 2
This Tier, opening on Aug. 19 at 3 p.m. CT is for drivers who scored at least 27 points OR received points for three or more ProSolos in the same class during the 2026 season.

Tier 3
The final group, for those who scored points in at least two events in the same class this season, will be eligible to register on Aug. 26 at 3 p.m. CT.

Know Your Count

We all know that if ProSolo competition were measured in Federalist Papers, Alexander Hamilton would have scored 51 points and obviously be in Tier 1. Likewise, James Madison would also make the Tier 1 cutoff with his 29 essays. John Jay, poor fella, would have to wait for Tier 3.

Everyone knows those point counts, but do you know yours? This link will tell you exactly where you stand:

The Room Where It Happens

The Tire Rack SCCA ProSolo Finale is where season-long rivalries come to a head, personal bests are challenged, and champions are crowned. It's where reaction times matter, launches count, and every run has the potential to become a story you'll tell for years.

You don't want to be hearing about "the room where it happened." You want to be in it.

Because of that, you’ll want to register prior to Aug. 31 at 3 p.m. CT, because that’s when registration closes. You’ll also want to keep your eyes on the ProSolo Finale event page come Sept. 3, when the run/work information will be posted.

Other dates to know include:

  • Practice start ticket sales begin Friday, Sept. 4, from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., the same time practice starts take place
  • Event check-in begins Friday, Sept. 4, from 3-4 p.m.
  • Course walks will be open for walking on Friday beginning at 6:15 p.m.
  • Courses close for walking at 7:45 a.m. on Saturday and 7:30 a.m. on Sunday
