Dust off those cowboy boots and fire up your engines, because it’s time to saddle up for the wildest run this side of the Rio Grande. The April 29-May 2, 2026, SCCA® Targa Tex-ish is rollin’ deep into the Lone Star State (and Missouri and Oklahoma), servin’ up a four-day, four-racetrack, full-throttle adventure packed with horsepower, friendly rivalry, and good ol’ Texas-sized fun that’s so big it spills into two other states – hence why this Targa is called Tex-ish.
And y’all ain’t just driving like a cowpoke on these days. Yes, there are transits that take you to each track, but after that, you’re wranglin’ apexes and chasin’ lap times across some of the finest racing surfaces Tex-ish has to offer.
The event rundown is as mouthwatering as a heaping bowl of chili:
- April 29: MotorSport Ranch, Cresson, TX
- April 30: Hallett Motor Racing Circuit, Jennings, OK
- May 1: Hedge Hollow Raceway, Adrian, MO
- May 2: Eagles Canyon Raceway, Decatur, TX
And the price tag? Just $975 per team, which means that one registration fee covers both the driver and co-driver, making this a steal of a deal.
You know you’re in ... you just need to register.

What Tex-ish is All About
Let’s lock in for a moment…
The green flag drops at MotorSport Ranch in Cresson, TX, on April 29, where drivers will stretch their legs and lay down their first hot laps (and likely TrackSprints, too) in Wednesday’s timed sessions. From there, it’s a casual trek up to Hallett Motor Racing Circuit in Jennings, OK, where Thursday brings a mix of TrackSprints and more seat time to really let those machines run wild.
Note that open-road windshield time between racetracks are part of the event, too, with event challenges that include everything from social media posts to meetups…and meetups that involve social media challenges. Those transit challenges will affect your overall SCCA Targa score.
Come Friday, your team is dialed in as the action heads to Hedge Hollow Raceway in Adrian, MO, keepin’ the momentum hotter than a summer day, before everyone points their rides back to Texas for the grand finale at Eagles Canyon in Decatur, TX – this is one last chance to hammer down and leave it all on the track.

(Targa Tex-ish is four days, four racetracks, 1,000 miles of transit, and boy howdy, this is fixin' to be a good time.)
This ain’t just about who’s got the heaviest right foot, it’s about drivin’ smart and playin’ the long game. Scoring mixes cumulative lap times, TrackSprint grit, and even a dash of social media swagger and peer judging (dressing the part with a team theme is a great idea!). It’s competition with a handshake and a grin, where the paddock feels like a Texas cookout and the real prize is the stories you’ll tell long after the checkered flag waves.
On top of that, each SCCA Targa wraps up at a Tire Rack SCCA Time Attack Challenge weekend, with up to two people on each SCCA Targa team receiving a 10% discount should they opt to enter that weekend’s Time Attack Challenge as well.
It’s all a lot of fun! Want proof? Check out SCCA’s Targa Facebook Group:
A Non-timed Good Time Option
SCCA Targa events involve timed on-track action, but this year’s SCCA Targa events also feature a new class called Track Night in America Targa Experience where organizers turn off the clock. Why? As SCCA’s Manager of Time Trials John Hunter explained not long ago:
“The new class is called the ‘Targa Experience,’ and it allows drivers to enter any of the SCCA Targa events and run without scoring. That means your lap times and TrackSprint segments will not be timed.
“This does a couple of things. One, it removes the competition element from your event, which in turn reduces stress. Some drivers thrive on that pressure – others, not so much. The Targa Experience class enables teams to enter the event purely for the thrill of the drive, eliminating the stress of the scoring. And two, for those looking to obtain track insurance for the event – like through SCCA partner Hagerty – entering a non-timed track day often puts you in a lower insurance price bracket.”
So just want the fun and none of the pressure? Targa’s EX class is for you!
Wait…What’s SCCA Targa?
If you’re new to the SCCA Targa game, we’ll explain. SCCA Targa isn’t an event – it’s an experience you’ll never forget.
Picture this: four straight days of full-send action, at least one motorsports challenge every day, and your favorite co-driver riding shotgun. This isn’t some quick hit of track time – it’s a full-on, half-week road trip where the laughs are loud, the competition is friendly, and every team around you is just moments away from becoming your new best friend.
