We’re not going to beat you with bad Blues Brothers references this time, but the Aug. 1-2, 2026, Tire Rack SCCA Time Attack Challenge at Autobahn Country Club is coming up quickly (if you still want those Blues Brothers references, check out the event registration article we posted back in May). The Joliet, IL, track located just outside of Chicago (you can tour the prison … OK, that’s our last reference) is fast, fun, and a challenge. In other words, it’s perfect for SCCA Time Attack.

Should we save you a seat? Because trust us when we say, this is one Time Attack weekend you won’t want to miss.

On Your Toes

The event follows what appears to be a normal schedule during the weekend: Each driver gets one practice session on Saturday, then three timed sessions on Saturday and three timed sessions on Sunday, all navigating the 2.1-mile, 15-turn South Circuit. But it’s not as simple as that.

Dang, that looks fun. How can you resist coming?

During the upcoming event, competitors will be trying to set their two fastest times, which will be added together for their cumulative score. To get those times, sessions are divided into “Time Attack 1” and “Time Attack 2” groupings and spread across both days, with the schedule basically looking like this:

Saturday

• Practice Session
• Time Attack 1 – Session 1
• Time Attack 1 – Session 2
• Time Attack 2 – Session 1

Sunday

• Time Attack 1 – Session 3
• Time Attack 2 – Session 2
• Time Attack 2 – Session 3

This means you’ve got to be on your toes when it comes to optimizing your setup.

The Chase

Last year, Jackie Ding set the overall mark at the track, which offers the biggest target to chase. Dallas Reed was right behind, and he’s on this year’s entry list, so Dallas, you’ve got your rabbit to chase. And so does everybody else.

We keep saying this, but: Stay! Camp! Don’t ever leave the track (well, until the event is over). The track is where the fun is, and at night the fun can keep rolling.
