This isn’t just good news, it’s great news: The Tire Rack SCCA® Time Attack Challenge is headed back to Carolina Motorsports Park! The driver-favorite motorsports circuit located just south of Charlotte took a couple of years off from SCCA’s Time Attack competition before returning to the calendar last year – and the track proved to be as popular as ever. So here’s the really good news: Registration for the soon-to-be-upon-us June 13-14, 2026, Time Attack Challenge at Carolina Motorsports Park (CMP) is now open, meaning you can reserve your spot and get to prepping your car…like, now!
The 14-turn, 2.279-mile track mixes speed, technical corners, and excitement with generous runoff zones and a spacious paddock. All of that, along with a prime location, makes it a fantastic destination for Time Attack Challenge participants.

Benchmarks Have Been Set
With four visits from SCCA’s Time Attack Challenge over the years, the existing track records are a spectacular benchmark to shoot for. That includes the overall best, from Andy Hollis and his McLaren 720S in Unlimited 1 back in 2022; That lap of 1:33.131 was in site last year from Jackie Ding. Will they (or someone else) come back this year to try to drop it further?
Whether you’re heading there to upset the overall top time, a class record, or a personal best, it’s a good idea to know what you’ll be striving for. For that, there’s the Time Attack Track Records & Personal Bests interactive database to peruse:
Multiply Your Fun
This year’s Tire Rack SCCA Time Attack Challenge at CMP has an extra treat with some special guests.
Saturday morning, June 13, doubles as the finale to the June 10-13, 2026, SCCA Targa Carolinas, meaning it brings sessions for those at the finale of a four-day adventure that spans four racetracks across the southeast.
But here’s some more great news: Did you notice that they were there on Saturday morning? Like, the start of the Time Attack Challenge event, Saturday morning? We’re just saying – if you’re going to enter the Time Attack Challenge at CMP and you’d like three more days of on-track adrenaline, enter the Time Attack Challenge AND Targa Carolinas!
You want stories to tell while camping at CMP on Saturday night? That’s how you get stories.
Space is Limited
Listen – more real talk. Not everyone can attend the June 13-14, 2026, Time Attack Challenge at Carolina Motorsports Park. What we mean by that is, while the Time Attack Challenge is basically open to anyone with a driver’s license and access to a car, there’s a limit. Literally not everyone can attend – the track would be too crowded.
This Time Attack weekend is being capped at the first 90 drivers who sign up once registration opens (which is Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 3 pm CT). If you’re driver 91, it’s straight to the waiting list for you.
Our advice is to hop to the event page, gather up all the info you need, and register. Then figure out logistics.
Fun is waiting for you, so do it!
