SCCA Targa Registration: I Got You Babe

OK campers, rise and shine, and don’t forget your booties, ‘cause it’s cold out there!

Yet, it won’t be cold forever, so set up for spring and summer this Groundhog Day by registering for one of the upcoming SCCA Targas that are coming your way. Or be like Phil Connors from the classic Groundhog Day movie and relive Targa again and again and again by entering not one, not two, not three, but all four SCCA Targas taking place in 2026.

Those registering for an SCCA Targa will also get a bonus that saves them legit cash. More on that, but first…

What is SCCA Targa? Only the most fun you can have in a car. Think about it: Four days, at least one motorsports adventure per day, and a friend. This is way better than a few minutes of fun in a car – it’s more than half a week of #funwithcars with a buddy where you’ll be participating alongside teams comprised of your soon-to-be best friends.

Check out the SCCA Targa Facebook group to see what people are saying about the events.

Bing!

OK campers, rise and shine, and don’t forget your booties, ‘cause it’s cold out there!

Nice going, boys. You’re playing yesterday’s tape.

Similar to Ned Ryerson’s life insurance plans, SCCA Targa is not only the best way to ensure you have the most thrilling spring and summer ever, but signing up on Groundhog Day guarantees a discount that doesn’t come around every day.

“This year’s SCCA Targa events are going to be a blast, but we want the fun to carry on through the final weekend of each event, so we’ve got a deal for those registering on Feb. 2,” says SCCA’s Manager of National Time Trials John Hunter. “Register for an SCCA Targa and you’ll receive a 10% discount that one or both of the Targa team members can use at the Time Attack Challenge weekend that follows the Targa.”

As Neddy would say – Bing!

But paying the SCCA Targa registration fee shouldn’t be a cold experience – and it isn’t!

Each SCCA Targa is a deal, with the $975 entry fee covering the team, which is up to two drivers per car (you can go it alone if you choose…although in a car, two sets of hands is always more fun). Think about it: That’s $243.75 per day, or $121.88 per teammate per day. More affordable quality track time simply doesn’t exist.

But that’s still a lot of money to front on Feb. 2 for an event that doesn’t take place until April, June, or July. SCCA is defrosting that chill, however, with more good news. If you register for an SCCA Targa event using PayPal Express, drivers can access all of PayPal's payment options, which includes "Pay in 4" and PayPal Credit.

What that means is you can reserve your spot now and worry about the payments later. (Pro tip: “Pay in 4” is interest free!) And this year, you don't even need to be an SCCA member to run a Targa event – you can select to purchase a weekend membership during registration and that'll cover you for the entire event.

Stuck in a Loop?

The existential question posed by Phil Connors was: What would you do if you were stuck in one place and every day was exactly the same, and nothing that you did mattered?

You don’t have to spend 20 to 30 years of your life battling to get out of a time loop like Phil did – break free the easy way and enter an SCCA Targa event.

“Last year saw the relaunch of SCCA Targa, and everyone had a blast,” Hunter says. “We learned a lot in 2025, and we’re putting that knowledge to good use. Targa teams should expect quality – and sometimes unique – track time, plus tons of fun on the transits. That includes the likes of an oval track, as well as the option to take in the sights at Mt. Washington and the fun of a ferry ride if they choose.

“In other words, regardless of which SCCA Targa you enter, you’re going to have a blast. But to maximize your fun, you’ll want to enter on Groundhog Day.”

Babe, I got you babe.
