Time Attack National Championship to Tackle Texas in 2026

If you’re a fan of Time Attack competition and you’re going to be literally anywhere in the continental United States during October of next year, the 2026 Tire Rack SCCA® Time Attack National Championship has your name written all over it. Why? Turns out, the Time Attack National Championship’s home for 2026 will be Eagles Canyon Raceway in Decatur, TX, and will take place on Oct. 22-25, putting the event at a location that’s accessible to all, and at a track you’ll fall in love with (if you haven’t already).

Let’s begin with the location. Live in Southern California? That’s a very doable 1,400-mile drive. Call Florida home? It’s barely 1,100 miles for you. Is your house in Pennsylvania? Your mileage just about splits the difference between the Golden and the Sunshine State.

Live closer? Then your drive is even shorter!

Point is, Eagles Canyon Raceway is equally accessible to all. It’s also an amazing motorsport circuit with a proven track record of thrilling drivers.

“Eagles Canyon Raceway has become one of the most anticipated stops of the Tire Rack SCCA Time Attack Challenge series, so when we were presented with the opportunity to cap the 2026 season off with the inaugural Time Attack National Championship at the track, we couldn’t resist,” said SCCA’s Manager of National Time Trials John Hunter. “I couldn’t be more thrilled to kick off the 2026 East Time Attack Challenge series at Eagles Canyon, then wrap the season with the National Championship event there. What a year it’ll be!”

Opened in 2007 and renovated into its modern form in 2019, Eagles Canyon Raceway features an FIA-spec 2.7-mile, 15-turn racing circuit that boasts more than 200 feet of elevation changes and a 2,200 foot long back straight. While the track features a near-impeccable asphalt surface and blind corners that will send any driver’s pulse racing, the facility is also top notch, with the Over the Top Bar & Grill offering sit-down restaurant service and food at an affordable price – plus, the track features on-site accommodations for those looking for the ultimate experience.

In addition, the property includes dedicated skid pads, driver training areas, and a staff of professional driver coaches ready to help participants reach their full potential.

Located in north Texas, barely 40 miles from Fort Worth, Eagles Canyon Raceway is also conveniently located to – quite frankly – everyone.

“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome the SCCA and its competitors to Eagles Canyon Raceway,” said Brad Flack, General Manager of Eagles Canyon Raceway. “We plan for this to become the premiere event on the Time Attack calendar in the United States. ECR is growing at an epic pace, and we look forward to making memories for the drivers and teams that will last a lifetime. The SCCA is a great partner, and we look forward to the nation coming to Texas!”

What “National Champion” Means

SCCA offering “National Champion” titles at the upcoming Tire Rack SCCA Time Attack National Championship isn’t something the Club takes lightly. These titles never come easy – each one of them is earned.

“Being an SCCA National Champion means a lot – it means you’re among the best of the best,” Hunter explained. “Bobby Rahal, Graham Rahal, Jimmy Vasser, Scott Sharp, Elliott Forbes-Robinson, Skip Barber, Boris Said, Randy Pobst, Michael Galati, and Paul Newman are all SCCA National Champions. So are John Thomas, Patty Tunnell, Shelly Monfort, Jeff Kiesel, Mark Daddio, Jeff Cashmore, Bartek Borowski, Karen Babb, Tom Berry, Bryan Heitkotter, Ginette Jordan, and Tom O’Gorman.

“These drivers are luminaries of their respective sport – they’re the ones we aspire to be like. Starting at the Oct. 22-25 Time Attack National Championship, SCCA Time Attack is going to start writing a new page in the history books, and you know you’ll want to be there to be a part of it.”

But That’s Not All…

The Tire Rack SCCA Time Attack National Championship will be a sister event to the Grassroots Motorsports Tire Rack Ultimate Track Car Challenge (UTCC), as the two events will work hand-in-hand with each other at Eagles Canyon Raceway. SUPERFLY will also be on site to host the ultimate lifestyle car show experience.

But even that's not all...

While the inaugural Time Attack National Championship will be held at Eagles Canyon Raceway, the National Championship event may rotate to other tracks in the future.

“We’re considering all of the options,” Hunter added. “We know that moving the event around the country helps more people attend the National Championship event. We’ve got several racetracks we’re eyeing for a potential visit, but we’d love for Regions to reach out to us if they’ve got a desire to host the event at their home track.”
