2026 Sneak Peek: These Two Time Attack Challenge and SCCA Targa Weekends Are Set to Thrill

No, we haven’t announced the 2026 Tire Rack SCCA Time Attack Challenge schedule. No, we also haven’t said where and when SCCA Targa events will take place in the coming year. That’s about to change.

Sort of.

While we’re still going to leave you in anticipation of the ins and outs of the complete nationwide Time Attack Challenge series to come in ’26, we’re about to drip some tasty details in front of you – just enough to whet your whistle and let you pop some dates onto your calendar. Those morsels are also going to include some exciting SCCA Targa news.

It’ll Be a June Jamboree

Ever driven Carolina Motorsports Park at speed? If “no” is your answer, then trust us when we say that this is a track and facility you need to experience. If the answer is “yes,” then you’re already sold on the idea of hitting the 14-turn, 2.279-mile circuit in Kershaw, SC, for a weekend of #funwithcars.

Cutting to the chase, on June 13-14, 2026, the Tire Rack SCCA Time Attack Challenge will converge on the circuit lovingly known as CMP – a track, it should be added, that has been a regular stop on SCCA’s National Time Trials schedule since 2019. You could say it’s back by popular demand…because it is!

From high-speed sweepers to technical switchbacks, CMP offers something for all skill levels and horsepower. And in 2026, it’s once again going to offer something for SCCA Targa participants, because the June 13-14, 2026, weekend will mark the end point for SCCA Targa’s southern adventure.

SCCA’s multi-day Targa that wrapped at CMP in 2025 was an utter blast, combining adventure and thrills that wove a number of bucket list tracks into a road-going experience the participants will remember for years to come.

What will SCCA Targa’s southern journey hold in store this year? More fun, more memories –more, more, more!

An August Adventure to Remember

The next weekend to mark on your calendar is Aug. 1-2, 2026. That weekend, the Tire Rack SCCA Time Attack Challenge will return to Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, IL, for its second time at the track. Believe it or not, 2025 marked the first time the Time Attack Challenge took a look at this amazing racing circuit, and the action that unfolded was second to none.

Like in 2025, the 2026 go-round at Autobahn will also include SCCA Targa, as the Aug. 1-2, 2026, weekend will mark the conclusion of that multi-day experience.

Which other Chicago-area tracks will this leg of SCCA Targa also include? Fun ones – that much we can tell you.

What Are You Talking About?

If you’re new – and all of us were new at some point – let’s break it down.

The Tire Rack SCCA Time Attack Challenge is a nationwide series of timed, on-track competition event where you pit yourself against other drivers (split into a variety of classes) for a weekend of fun. Your fastest time from Saturday adds to your fastest Sunday time for your overall score, with the top three from each class celebrating on the KONI Podium.

Or, presented in video form…

What is SCCA Targa? Think Time Attack Challenge, but taking place over multiple days at a variety of facilities, with other elements tossed in for added thrills. In any given SCCA Targa event, you may compete in a Time Attack, a TrackSprint, an autocross, or even a RoadRally. On top of that, there are transit and social media challenges to boot. Yet while everything adds together for a final score, SCCA Targa events are largely about fun and community.

In short, everyone’s a winner at SCCA Targa events.

More to Come

SCCA will soon be releasing the entire 2026 Tire Rack SCCA Time Attack Challenge schedule (which, as always, will include some amazing tracks you’ll want to get time on). The Club will also be unveiling more SCCA Targa events that’ll be hitting the streets in 2026 (expect one in the northeast and another in Texas).

When will those be announced? Soon! But come on, first we’ve at least got to host the Sept. 19-21, 2025, Tire Rack SCCA Time Trials Nationals at Pittsburgh International Race Complex.

Speaking of which, there’s still time to enter Time Trials Nationals – you should go for it!
