It’s time again for tuned engines to sing in Nebraska’s capital city as throngs of Sports Car Club of America® members descend on Lincoln for another exhilarating week of experiences and excitement thanks to the Tire Rack SCCA® Solo National Championships.
As the host city, Lincoln has become synonymous with these thrilling competitions and is excited to welcome both fans and competitors to the vibrant community for another year. SCCA events are a highlight on the annual calendar, blending the thrill of motorsports with the fantastic hospitality of which Lincoln is known.
“Lincoln Airpark is 100 acres of concrete surrounded by a city that knows how to welcome 150,000 people during college football weekends,” noted Heyward Wagner, SCCA’s Vice President of Rally/Solo and Experiential Programs. “It’s a one-of-one autocross site in a one-of-one autocross city offering a fabulous venue and infrastructure all tied up in a fun package.”
Events SCCA holds in Lincoln aren’t just a spectacle of skill and speed. They also inject a significant economic boost to the community. With an impact of approximately $3 million annually, the various events usually bring more than 1,700 visitors to fill hotels, dine in restaurants, and support local attractions and businesses around town.
As we tune up for a rock ‘n’ roll themed show like no other, Lincoln is already prepared to welcome visitors from near and far to discover all the city has to offer. Whether you are coming to compete, cheer on drivers, or simply soak in the excitement, the hope is you’ll also take time to explore the many wonderful things that make Lincoln a truly unique destination.
