Register for Time Trials Nat Tour’s First Trip to Pocono

The 2024 Tire Rack SCCA® Time Trials National Tour Powered by Hagerty (TTNT) and Track Event (TE) season could easily be described as a year of firsts.

The TTNT season opened in January with a first-ever visit to the Outside Road Course at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. In April, the series makes its inaugural trip to Wisconsin and Road America. Almost exactly two months after that, the TTNT big show arrives in Long Pond, PA, for its very first time to the playground that is Pocono Raceway.

Registration opens March 14 at 5 p.m. ET for the June 15-16, 2024, Pocono Time Trials National Tour and Track Event weekend. Sometimes referred to as the “Switzerland of America,” the Poconos is a beautiful part of the country. It’s also known as the “Honeymoon Capital of the World,” thus making it a perfect spot for you and your motorsport passion to consecrate a dedication to having #funwithcars.

As usual, there’s a cap on the number of drivers who can play on Pocono Raceway’s road course during TTNT and Track Event time slots. Don’t miss out.

Will Mario Andretti Be There? Also, What Configuration?

While the Andretti name has long been synonymous with the Pocono region, we’re pretty sure Mario won’t be attending this event. However, since he’s rumored to have consulted with Rodger Ward on development of the 2.5-mile “Tricky Triangle” that transformed a spinach farm into a major motorsport destination, it’s safe to say Mario’s presence is always felt at the venue.

The entire Tricky Triangle won’t be in play during SCCA’s visit to the 1,000-acre venue. Both TTNT and TE drivers, however, will experience a portion of that legendary asphalt while traversing two different layouts during the weekend. Specifically, the 2.26-mile North/South Option 2 course will be used Saturday, and the 2.53-mile North/South Option 3 layout on Sunday. Both of those courses utilize a chunk of the long 3,055-foot backstretch, as well as the main straight and the circuit’s famed second turn with its 8 degrees of banking.

If you’re unfamiliar with the two road courses, we’ve got some maps for you. The yellow line indicates the portion of the circuit being utilized:

Peak Pocono Track Time

Be it TTNT or TE drivers, everyone gets four 20-minute sessions on course each day. The difference is the TE portion of the weekend is untimed and allows participants to make runs around the track without any undue pressure. Everyone, however, should be sure to secure in-car cell phones or cameras tightly to capture your on-track experience, then share across all forms of social media as proof of how awesome you are.

The June 15-16 Pocono TTNT/TE event schedule includes just enough free time to meet with friends, support other drivers out on circuit, or spend time exploring Pocono Raceway. As always, Saturday evening’s Hagerty Social Dinner Party is open to everyone.

Once again, space is limited for the Pocono TTNT/Track Event weekend. Get registered so you and your motorsport passion can have a #funwithcars honeymoon in the Poconos.
