You Vote: Who Will Win the Solo Nats? Prepared Category

What’s celebrating its 50th year in 2023 and has 1,300 friends coming to Lincoln, NE, to celebrate on Sept. 5-8, 2023? The Tire Rack SCCA® Solo National Championships, of course. Those friends will then spend time autocrossing on two fantastic courses in 70-some classes to determine who’s the best of the best in the nation. But as the event inches ever closer, it’s impossible to look at the massive entry list and not wonder who will win. That’s why for the last several days we’ve been putting polls online asking you to help predict the event’s outcome. And today, we present the poll for the Prepared category.

This category is a particularly difficult one to decide. When it comes to built machinery and drivers who know their cars inside and out, you’re talking microsecond decisions on course that can separate winners from – well, let’s be nice in our wording – not winners.

But before we get to the polls below, a quick history lesson on the Solo National Championships. Did you know that the first Solo National Championships was held in Wentzville, MO, during the Oct. 20-21, 1973, weekend, with 224 drivers converging on Mid-America Raceway to battle for glory? To put that into perspective, today’s Prepared category drivers alone constitute 101 entries – my, how the sport has grown.

And now a disclaimer: We did our best to include the name of everyone we thought might stand a chance of winning their class. If we didn’t include you in the listing, we humbly apologize and encourage you to prove us wrong by winning. Then if we neglect to include your name in the “who will win?” poll for the 2024 Solo Nats, you’ll know it’s out of spite.
