SCCA Hires Andrew Benagh as Solo Administrative Manager

A Sports Car Club of America® member since 2000, Andrew Benagh is a third generation Club member who has held a membership card since shortly after birth. Through the years, Benagh has been active in the Club crewing and volunteering, currently holding Divisional or Regional licenses in Flagging and Communications, Scrutineering, and Start. He also served on the New England Region’s Board of Directors from June 2020 through January 2021. Continuing his SCCA adventure, Benagh was recently hired by the Club’s Solo Department to become the Solo Administrative Manager.

A recent graduate of the University of Massachusetts Lowell where he participated in the school’s Formula SAE program, Benagh has moved from the New England area to SCCA’s headquarters in Topeka, KS, to assist in the day-to-day activities within the Solo Department, including managing the Solo Rules, addressing member inquiries, and assisting with event support.

Benagh’s many accomplishments were recognized in SportsCar magazine’s November 2019 issue, where he was featured in the First Gear section for his contributions to the Club. There, he discussed his passion for flagging, as well as what it meant to be on the Formula SAE team at UMass during his freshman year.

“We are excited to have Andrew join the Solo team as Solo Administrative Manager,” said Rick Myers, SCCA’s Director of Rally/Solo. “His experience at a Region level and a familiarity with how our Club functions will allow him to jump right into the role and contribute to the success of our program at a Regional and National level. His versatility and desire to dive in has already had an impact on the department.”

Reporting directly to Myers in the Solo Department, Benagh’s employment with the SCCA began in early June, where he immediately attended multiple events on the Tire Rack National Solo schedule.
