USRRC’s 2022 Michigan RoadRally Weekend Nears

With a date and location reminiscent of two years ago, the 2022 United States RoadRally Challenge (USRRC) might share familiar elements with a past event, but make no mistake: This year’s USRRC is set to impress. With fresh challenges winding through invigorating roads, this year’s USRRC will be one to remember.

With Detroit Region hosting this year’s USRRC over Nov. 4-6, 2022, the competition weekend will consist of a pair of Tour rallies and a single Course rally. The triple contest will take place over unpaved and paved roads in Southeast Michigan, with the unpaved portion constituting roughly 70 percent of the weekend’s experience.

"The USRRC is the highlight of the RoadRally competition season, but it is not just for highly experienced competitors,” explains Mike Bennett, Chairman of the RoadRally Board. “Novices are encouraged to come out and join the fun! Everyone's vehicle will get dirty on the unpaved roads, but like all SCCA RoadRally events, you can compete in whatever you are driving on a daily basis. As always in SCCA RoadRally, no special vehicles, safety equipment or competition licenses are required."

The Weekend’s Schedule

The event, headquartered at the Days Inn in Whitemore Lake, MI, sports a three-day schedule that sandwiches a fun Course rally between two exciting Tours. Here’s how the tentative weekend schedule is slated to pan out, along with the entry fee per rally:

Those who enter after Oct. 19 will have their T-shirts mailed.

This year’s USSRC will utilize the Richta GPS Checkpoint smartphone app, which is free on Android and iOS smartphones. “The use of the Richta Competitor app on smart phones has made getting ‘dialed in’ to the pace of the event easier than ever,” Bennett points out.
