The seventh Hoosier Racing Tire SCCA Super Tour of 2022 takes place April 29-May 1 in Wampum, PA, at Pittsburgh International Race Complex (PittRace). First added to the Hoosier Super Tour schedule in 2020, the 2.78-mile course quickly became a favorite amongst racers. The circuit’s 19 corners and two straightaways, each measuring more than five football fields in length, provide plenty of thrills for both drivers and spectators.
Being Part of History at PittRace
SCCA’s Steel Cities Region hosts the Hoosier Super Tour at PittRace, which will also be the 70th running of the Region’s Cumberland Classic. First held in 1952, the Cumberland Classic is one of the longest running, continuously named events in the country.
The PittRace Hoosier Super Tour is a three-day event, so things get rolling Friday morning, April 29, with 20-minute practice for each of seven race groups, followed by 25-minute qualifying sessions starting at 1 p.m. EDT.
A second round of qualifying begins at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 30; then it’s time to go racing with 25-minute contests starting at 1 p.m. Once Saturday’s final checker flies, the day comes to a close with the All Participant Dinner.
Sunday, May 1, is all about competition as a second day of racing begins at 9 a.m. and features 17-laps or 35-minutes of action (whichever comes first) for all seven race groups.

PittRace Performers
With 28 Majors classes spread across the seven race groups, there will be plenty to watch at PittRace during the Hoosier Super Tour. For instance, Spec Racer Ford Gen3 (SRF3) is again well represented, and James Goughary could very well be the favorite in that field. He won both SRF3 races last year at PittRace and surely wants to repeat that success.
After winning a Spec Miata race during last year’s PittRace visit, Jordan Smart will be someone to keep an eye on in the nearly 30-car field. And special for that race group will be the inclusion of the Spec MX-5 class for the weekend.
Current Formula Enterprises 2 (FE2) Hoosier Super Tour Nationwide Points leader Whitney Strickland is on the entry list for PittRace, as is fellow competitor Owen McAllister, who is only two points behind in the standings. Bailey Monette also plans to be in the mix, and he could be a factor after sweeping FE2 at PittRace last year.
Marshall Mast, the 2021 SCCA National Champion in Touring 3 (T3) will also be at PittRace, but he’ll be driving a Ford Mustang in the Touring 2 (T2) class. Mast swept both T3 Hoosier Super Tour races at PittRace last year, so it will be interesting to see if he can repeat the feat in T2 against some staunch competitors.

The Hoosier Super Tour weekend at PittRace is open to the public, and admission is free for anyone who wants to be part of the excitement trackside. Those who can’t make it to the event can follow the action live online at SCCA.com, where you’ll find the Super Tour Radio presented by Hoosier Racing Tire broadcast supplied by the Performance Motorsports Network team.
